Thank you cards and photos

DS had a lovely party at the weekend and some great presents. My original idea was to try and take individual photos of all the children (there were under 10, so I thought it was achievable), but in the end I was so busy I just got group shots.

I wanted to send cards with a photo on the front (I had already asked permission to take photos which was fine), but now am wondering if that would be ok or not. Basically I would be sending people a photo of not just their child but with others in the shot. AIBU in being hesitant about this? DH says I'm over thinking it, but I'm not so sure.

If you've had permission from them all I see no problem in it. I'd quite like one if it was my DD that attended.

i think it would be lovely

I usually do this and no one minds. I think you are prob being a bit over sensitive. Go for it!!!

LaBoccaDellaVerita · 15/02/2012 10:25

Why would anyone mind? You sound a bit brainwashed to me.

Firawla · 15/02/2012 10:26

i would do it, sounds nice. surely noone would really have a problem

My issue is that I had permission to take the photos, but not to distribute them IYSWIM? I still think it would be a nice idea though. The photos aren't necessarily focussed on individual children, just of them all around the table getting into their activity.

The photos would only be going to the parents, definitely not on to Facebook or anything.

I recently got a thank you card from a party dd2 went to - similar to what you describe, a few group shots of children at teh party enjoying themselves.

I was not asked permission for photos (and hasten to add, do not care about this AT ALL) and hadn't thoguht about it, but if I had I woudl have assumed that the hosts would want some pictures of their children enjoying the party.

the card was lovely, btw, and it was nice to see the children (all 4 and 5 year olds) having such a great time.

LaBoccaDellaVerita - I know, that's what DH says. I had never really thought about these things until seeing some discussions on here and realising that people can be quite sensitive about photos of their children (serious issues not withstanding of course).
