No.

Having eye drops put in is horrible. I'd scream bloody murder too!!

What's she got? Will it clear up without the drops? Wiping them gently with warm cotton wool and water is better than nothing. If it's something more serious the you'll have to back to the doctor.

I've answered your post in health Smile

Just get the drops in and ignore the screaming. They all do it, and there's nothing you can do. It's more important to get the drops in.

One thing. If she cries a lot and washes the drops out the treatment might not work. In that case, ask the GP for antibiotic ointment instead. It stays in the eye for longer and is pretty resistant to tears.

Also, offer bribes in the form of chocolate buttons Wink

I used to put dd's in when she was asleep, she never woke, when doing it.

Dappylittlemomma · 15/02/2012 01:38

When asleep also worked brilliantly for my LO. If she's a baby u also could when having milk (u do need to have three hands for this though).

MarriedInVegas · 15/02/2012 01:55

Not sure if it will help or not but i found breast feeding dd at the same time worked a treat! instant calm! is that an option?

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 15/02/2012 02:04

It seems like a reasonable reaction when you can't say 'Fuck Off'Grin

Poor little mite, it must be really really horrible to just suddenly (from her POV) have that done.

Definitely try when she's asleep, failing that, the ointment.
