Isn't student loan interest rates linked to inflation?

Yes, Student Loan's interest is the rate of inflation. which is why students are paying shedloads more for their loan when inflation is high and interest rates are low.
they started that plan when interest rates were high and inflation was low. That's now screwed us over.

Fair point, well made. I guess it will go a little further than it would have done had inflation continued to rise at the same pace but that's really stretching it.
