aibu to really want to strangle my DP when he lets rip under the duvet. not only are his farts REALLY loud they STINK to high heaven. What makes it worse is that even if he is sleeping he still manages to giggle

Your DH has class at still finding his farts funny even when he's asleep Smile

rhondajean · 11/02/2012 00:19

YAbu. Fight fire with fire, I can recommend a vindaloo to get you going.

QuietOhSoQuiet · 11/02/2012 00:20

hmm I might have been able to back you until about 2 weeks ago and now apparently it's me Blush

pictish · 11/02/2012 00:24

I had to get out of bed and slink in with one of the kids during the week, as my dh's farts were so very very smelly. The stench was unholy and I couldn't breathe in a single other atom of it.
Rank!

IneedAbetterNicknameIn2012 · 11/02/2012 00:29

Pull the duvet up over his head :)

Angiefernackerpan · 11/02/2012 07:55

My dh giggles in his sleep when he trumps too. I had to sleep with the window open the other night while it was snowing outside.

Angiefernackerpan · 11/02/2012 07:56

I can't believe my first ever comment on MN is about farts. Way to set the tone :)

EttiKetti · 11/02/2012 08:09

I expected to read this and it be written by my DH Blush

startwig1982 · 11/02/2012 08:12

My dh's are super loud at night. And they stink. you wouldn't catch me doing that I sometimes get up and spray something nice. He doesn't giggle though!

WelshMoth · 11/02/2012 08:16

My DH lets out a sigh of contentment after each fart, even in his sleep. Both the fart and this sigh irritate the hell out of me and he bloody stinks.

He then has the audacity to whinge if I spray on deoderant in the bedroom when I'm getting dressed in the morning.

A reverse kind of 'Pot, kettle, black'.

diddl · 11/02/2012 08:18

Are you married to teenagers?

They laugh at their farts?

Am I the only one with a husband who doesn´t fart in bed?

WelshMoth · 11/02/2012 08:22

My dear MIL is 87, widowed now, but said to me lately, after a particularly loud trump from DH, that she'd never once heard her DH break wind. Never.

Makes no difference to DH. Sitting happily in his foul, warm cloud of gas. Hmm

seeker · 11/02/2012 08:22

No you"re not, diddl. But be prepared to be called reserved and humourless and uptight if you think farting in front of your partner if you can possibly avoid it is inconsiderate and bad manners!

diddl · 11/02/2012 08:26

Oh we do fart in front of each other-just not in bed.

Neither of us laugh about it either.

seeker · 11/02/2012 08:42

Just me then!

ModreB · 11/02/2012 08:45

I never fart under the duvet, neither does DH. We have the consideration to poke our bums outside the duvet before we let rip.

But we still stink, and TBH mine are more smelly than his. Mine are so bad that I sometimes wake myself up with the smell Grin

diddl · 11/02/2012 08:47

That´s the thing-as far as I know neither of us fart overnight iyswim.

Or if we do, it´s not loud/obnoxious enough to wake the other!

KittyFane · 11/02/2012 09:11

Windows open in the freezing weather here too. Makes me feel sick.

:o

FutureNannyOgg · 11/02/2012 10:46

The other night I came to bed after DH and the stench was so bad I went and slept in the spare room. I felt bad for DS (18mo) who was in bed with him, but it was everyone for themselves.

FabbyChic · 11/02/2012 10:56

Clearly has no respect for you at all

diddl · 11/02/2012 11:24

Perhaps some of you/your husbands need a change of diet?Grin

pictish · 11/02/2012 11:28

That's true - the night I made good my escape, he smelled as though he'd been eating burnt tyres!

seeker · 11/02/2012 11:31

Seriously -this is such bad manners! I just don't begin to understand!

SnapesMistress · 11/02/2012 12:07

How is it bad manners if your asleep?
