DH won't be home from work for a while yet, but already I have:

Put the plates on the table (with napkins)

I have also put DH's wine on the table (which I will open shortly so it can breathe) and a glass.

The condiments are also already on the table.

The centerpiece is ... our favourite take-away menu! Grin

I think I deserve a glass of Wine now :)

It depends if it is red or white wine obv if this is true

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:05

Do I get bonus points if I say I have both in?

I do, I do, I do! Grin

Are his slippers ready and do you have a bow in your hair?

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:06

I havn't had time to put his slippers out yet or put a bow in my hair as I've been slaving over a draw trying to find the menu.

Do you think he'll notice?

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:11

I kind of wish I was joking now (although DH does not own slippers nor I a bow!)

Just keep hearing about friends cooking their DH/DP's lovely meals ... and I don't! Grin

I think I get 100% for take-away style effort!

It's "drawer" , my dear, but other than that, yes, you are the best DW in the world. Napkins, oh my!

My OH is lucky when he gets some paper towel for his fingers when I hand him his pizza in the box!

OhdearNigel · 10/02/2012 17:12

I'll bet £100 that most DHs out there would probably secretely prefer a takeaway to a home cooked gourmet extravaganza

Mine probably would [nob]

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:13

Apologies MooncupandPizza - I should know it's drawer!

Napkins = paper towel Wink

Indith · 10/02/2012 17:13

Pipe?

Scotch? Or would he prefer a g&t?

I do hope you have dressed for dinner.

PosiePumblechook · 10/02/2012 17:15

Are you wearing large glasses, a raincoat with a Basque and suspenders???

Otherwise you lose points.

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:15

Indith - I thought he'd prefer me naked?

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:16

Damn you PosiePumblechook!

Nudity should be saved for after the meal IMO, so as not to distract the gentleman and prevent unslightly, curry-splashed pubes.

Becaroooo · 10/02/2012 17:19

One should really be wearing a (fake) fur and be naked underneath dear. And red stillettos.

Tut tut.

Try harder!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/02/2012 17:19

Definitely nudity after. Remember the thread about the woman who put on a schoolgirl outfit while her and her DH ate their dinner and he saw her and laughed Grin

PosiePumblechook · 10/02/2012 17:22

Bey. That was an awful thread.

Newmummytobe79 · 10/02/2012 17:22

Grin CailinDana

Becaroooo - genius

BeyondTheLimits - oh please find that link so I can laugh my head off get some tips please!

Suspenders and no pants under normal clothes Wink

GiserableMitt · 10/02/2012 17:27

You're a bloody sight better than me. DH is on his way home after 6 weeks away. I'm sitting at the laptop with a Wine after having done only the bare minimum amount of housework because the kids and I were pissing about at a watersports club all day instead of turning the house into a haven of domestic bliss.
As he arrives in the wee small hours I'm counting on him sleeping in so I can catch up with all that I should have done today.

I will also greet him in my "comfy nightie" not my sexy one.

TotemPole · 10/02/2012 17:30

Don't forget, when you are talking about your days, his problems are more important than yours and act a little gay.
