DS is a young 3.5 and I wonder if he would be interested in The Muppets (the film)
DP took DS to the cinema to see Arthur Xmas in December and he sat through it but that was his only cinema experience.
Now DP asks me if he should take DS to see the Muppets.... is 3.5yo the right age for that?
I don't think it is.
AIBU....

I still don't understand the Muppets. They are pretend but human celebrities talk to them as if they are not and IT DOES MY HEAD IN. Seriously, as a kid, I could NOT understand it.

Sposh · 09/02/2012 15:52

How did kermit and miss piggy manage to sit on wossy's sofa the other day. Surely they didn't bring in a special sofa with hand holes in the seat?!

MaisyMooCow · 09/02/2012 15:52

I work with Muppets all day Grin

MooncupandPizza · 09/02/2012 15:55

My DD will be 4 in March and saw The Muppets before Christmas and love it.
I would say she's a reasonably mature nearly-4, very articulate etc. but I'd imagine if he sat through Arthur Christmas, he'd manage the Muppets.

(I didn't see it, she went with DH so can't really comment on the content, just that she enjoyed it and so did DH!)

valiumredhead · 09/02/2012 15:56

I LOVE The Muppets and can't wait to see the film with ds!

ClumsyClogs · 09/02/2012 15:57

Oh Sposh I can't believe I missed that - I love Jonathan Ross - what a winning combo Grin

I LOVE the Muppets, but am worried about the films, the voices aren't right (probably because a lot of the original voices are deceased) but still....

I would test the water by buying the Series One box set, got to be cheaper than a cinema trip!

My kids (8&4) adore the Muppets, they've had no choice.

aldiwhore · 09/02/2012 16:17

You could also pick up the other films cheap... Muppets Christmas Carol is a firm favourite.

MyBaby1day · 11/02/2012 02:31

The Muppets are SO cute!! Smile. A facebook friend of mine today said she was REALLY upset because apparently in Disney stores they are selling Muppet teddies (with all the hype of the film) BUT not Pepe the Prawn (her favourite)!. I saw Miss Piggy and Kermit on Jonathan Ross....awww-equal rights for puppets!!. I love my puppet (Clifford)! Smile

CornishKK · 11/02/2012 05:50

Sainsburys has the old films on DVD for £3 or £4, worth trialling it at home? My DS (2.5) and loved The Muppet Movie.

CornishKK · 11/02/2012 05:51

That's The Muppet Movie from the 1970's not the new one!

MrsCarriePooter · 11/02/2012 07:43

We took DD (4) and DS (2.6) yesterday to see the new film, no probs at all. Not their first cinema trip and they'd seen both the TV series and the Muppets Christmas Carol (DS did ask if the film would have Mr Scrooge in it). It's good.

valiumredhead · 12/02/2012 16:44

We've just been with ds who is 10 and we LOVED it - loads of very small kids and tons of older kids too. Can't remember a film where the audience laughed so much Grin

pinkthechaffinch · 12/02/2012 16:46

Miss Piggy was interviewed on Womans Hour last week and it was hilarious and I have never been a muppets fan!

pinkthechaffinch · 12/02/2012 16:49

I took dd, (3) to see puss in boots last month, my god, never again! climbing around on her seat, whisering really loudly in a stage whisper, wanting the toilet, repeat ad nauseum...

valiumredhead · 12/02/2012 16:56

pink all little kids do that ime - very few suit still. You kind of expect it if you are seeing a U or PG film I think, don't let it put you off if she enjoyed it :)

hophophippidtyhop · 12/02/2012 18:47

Dd1 has enjoyed the muppets since she was about 2 1/2 - might be genetic though... I can't wait to go!

ClumsyClogs · 12/02/2012 19:03

Thanks all, I think we'll give it a go
My worry is that DS just won't get it, he was never into cuddly toys or stuffed animals...
But if it is genetic it should all be fine Grin

PS Maisie, if you ever come back to the thread, can you tell us do you really work with THE Muppets or is that what you call your work colleagues Grin
