To say CAFCASS is less useful than a chocolate teapot?

I'm fuming right now. CAFCASS has had over a month to complete safety checks. I turn up at court today (which has cost me over £1000 in solicitors and barristers fees) to be told the hearing has had to be adjourned because CAFCASS, in their infinate wisdom, sent the request for a police check to the wrong email address, and didn't have time to rectify the mistake in time for the hearing. Utter bloody useless.....

YANBU to be pissed off, but YABU to make a sweeping statement about a massive organisation on the basis of one mistake, probably by one person.

Yabu.... They are v v overstretched and it's a mistake which is being rectified. How long do the police take??

While I realise it's (in this one particular case, one mistake) it's a mistake that has cost me dearly (paying privately)...and I guess I'm even more mad that my barrister informed me that CAFCASS make these silly errors that cost people time and money all the time....I now have to return to court and pay these fees all over again. Why should I be paying for their mistake? If Imade a mistake that cost a big govt organization money I'm pretty certain they're be chasing me to recover their costs...

Oh and in addition, when CAFACSS called me, they didn't even know the basic information of my case....they initially didn't even know my number, even though I'd emailed it to them and called them with it...they had to call my solicitor to get my number.....even though they'd been given it twice. How are we supposed to have any faith in an organization that cant' even get the most basic of things right?

Get your solicitor to check that the report is available prior to the next hearing.
