Should I go on this date?

I have had three dates this this guy. The last one was on the 27th of January. We then arranged one for 6 days later on the 2nd of February which to me was a perfectly acceptable distance between dates as, after a disastrous last relationship, I am keen to take things very slowly.

It was due to be a lunchtime date but on the morning of the date he text me and said that he had been up all night ill and needed to cancel. I was disappointed but thought, oh well these things happen. In his text he said "but I'm all yours Tuesday at 7pm" (the 7th Feb). I was away over the weekend which was why we couldn't see each other. He has just text saying that he can see me on Weds/Thurs daytime (when he knows I do volunteering) or Sat night!!

I feel a bit annoyed now although the 1st cancellation wasn't his fault and I was away over the weekend so technically, he is only putting the date back slightly.

Would I be unreasonable to say forget about the date or should I give him one last chance and say yes to the date on Saturday and see what happens? If he blows me off again then it will be a definite end to things.

Depends how much you like him. He has, after all, only cancelled one date due to illness. You don't sound that keen, tbh!

How much do you want to see him? I'd be irritated by all the messing around. Did he explain what was wrong with Tuesday 7th or why he is not now "all yours" on that occasion?

Winkly · 06/02/2012 11:58

He was ill and had given (as far as I can understand) 4 alternative options to meet up. Doesn't seem unreasonable on his part. Go if you want to see him. Don't string him along if you don't.

Did you get back to him about the 7th?

marmiteandjam · 06/02/2012 12:07

I am pretty keen on him which is the annoying thing. I have text him. All I said was "I thought we were going out tomorrow?". I'm almost 100% certain that the answer is going to have something to do with football as he plays 3 times per week and sometimes they don't kick off until about 7.30pm depending on when they can get a slot on the pitch. Just waiting on a reply.

If he does come back saying he has football, you should definitely be unavailable until Saturday or possibly even suggest Sunday evening!

I was harsh when dating, one strike and out Grin

If you like him though OP make one more arrangement and if he pisses about again then wave goodbye.
