doing an amazing thing?

menmedia.co.uk/tamesideadvertiser/news/s/1472707_how-a-tender-family-moment-on-youtube-is-helping-to-raise-thousands-for-cancer-charities

Sara is a breastfeeding supporter on my local hospital maternity unit and she has helped hundreds of mums to breastfeed. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2011 and has since undergone a mastectomy, reconstructive surgery and is currently undergoing chemo.

Despite this she has remained upbeat and positive and has been documenting her journey in her wonderful blog;

//www.wutheringlights.com

and more recently posted the video (linked in article above) on You Tube to help raise funds for several cancer charities.

That's lovely. I work at the Christie and things like this really bring home to me what it's like for the patient. I wish your friend lots of good wishes and I hope things go really well for her.

Happyseven This is the first time I have had chance to thank someone in person for the care my brother received (and now in the form of follow ups) in Christies. There have been funds raised and the gratitude we feel really really is boundless. Thank you to you and your colleagues and know that myself and my family wish you everything you all deserve. Grin Wine Brew Thanks Thanks

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but hopefully you'll agree it's well deserved.

Thank you, lisaro, that's very kind! I'm really glad your brother's had such a positive experience. I came up north for the job and stayed partly because it's such an amazing place to work. The community's support for it is invaluable and the funds you have raised will have been very gratefully received. I hope (apart from follow-ups) that none of your family have cause to come and see us again though.
