sitting watching it and there is a dad talking about his failed relationship to his Thai wife who then fled back there with their young son. Going through all the details and then the camera pans down and the young boy is right there. I'm thinking WTF bringing all this up in front of him and making him appear on TV? AIBU in thinking his is totally inappropriate?

He's already been in the papers, poor little mite. I am assuming it was the one where she tried to hold him for ransom, then took a laptop in return?

He deserves to know and his dad has the right to raise awareness of this kind of thing. But i'm not sure that parading the poor lad around like that is in his best interests.

It was quite a distssing story. Yes he ought to know but he is so young and now everyone knows, so he will always be 'the kid whose mum sold him for a laptop'.

I don't think that it will do the lad any harm to be honest. He has been through something huge, and the effect of that will always be a part of his life because it will have effected his Father so much.

Being open and public about it is something that I think would affect an older child much more than a younger child who will just grow up being used to it. He probably won't realise the enormity of what happened until he is almost an adult himself, or is having his own children.

I think the Father has the best of intentions, he loves his child and does not seem to be exploiting him. I see where you a coming from, but I don't think it's that bad.

True can you imagine him finding out as a teenager?
