To hate going to toddler groups?

I have 3 DC's and have always hated going to toddler groups although I sometimes drag myself along as DC's quite enjoy them. I also don't like play dates where I have to go along and make small talk for hours with someone I have little in common with apart from our DC's. Am I a moody cow and bad mother or does anyone else feel like this?!

YANBU - I just found them utterly dire... I mean quite interesting from a social experiment point of view, but mostly I couldn't really fathom what these women DID all day... The mums were just utterly... braindead! (Sorry!)

I discovered that one of them actually changed all the sheets in the house every day including hers and the spare rooms! Another one apparently bleached the inside of the fridge at least twice a week (as far as I know, my fridge has never been bleached...). The hilarious stories about their darling children were quite tedious but infinitely preferable to being invited along to one of their "mad nights out". Now I didn't expect this to be some kind of Champagne Charlie Acid-House all nighter... I was thinking more All Bar One and too much wine. But out of the 7 mummies, there was only one other one drinking and it became quite obviously a "my life's better than your life" competition.

Decided life was too short and that if my child was going to be a social reject, I'd rather he did so without inflicting these terrible people upon me!

I had one of those nights out you have described, no one daring to have a drink (what would people think!!!) and just terriby terribly dull. I am more than happy to leave them to it.
