DH brought dd1 (6) the above as she likes his music. January's picture is fine. February (and March and April and May etc) is not. MJ and a dancer next to him, full body shots, both with a hand on their crotch (their own hand on their own crotch to make that clear).

Mentioned it to DH who made irritated noises maybe in a 'can't get anything right way'. But really...she's 6 years old! He's making me doubt myself, yes MJ was a musician and dancer, should my 6 year old be looking at such an image and thinking its arty or just a couple of men with a hand on their bits and pieces?

What do you think? Yes ok, no not in my house? Most likely I will take calendar away but I know dd1 will be upset and I'd rather check I'm not overreacting before doing it. Could replace with some appropriate pics...

at six i don't think my dd would have had many issues over this. you are looking at it thru grown up eyes.

don't take it away. he did that sort of thing, if you don't mention it she'll not look at it like you imo.

they are clothed, she is 6.. it is not going to even register on a 6 year old that it could be suggestive..

Has she seen any of his videos? What's the difference between a picture of him grabbing his crotch and seeing him doing it on stage?

My son loved MJ and has had a calendar of his for the last couple of years.

It was one of his classic moves.........dont make it something it isnt!! My son used to love putting on little MJ shows for DH and I..he used to put the hat and glove etc etc on and do the moves.....including the crotch grabbing...I never thought anything of it!

I think it can be as big or small a thing as you decide to make it.

It's just a body part, at the end of the day. And it was just a rather silly 'dance' move that got very very dull.
