She hasn't been feeling great all week. Ive tried every day to get a doctors appointment but there isn't any till next week (will probably be fine by then). Her symptoms are
Sore head
Blocked nose
Sore throat
Intermittent fever (giving calpol which brings it down then it goes back up)
and her face is very red and flushed

I would keep mine off with those symptoms, especially the fever.

cruelladepoppins · 25/01/2012 22:26

I would keep them off with a fever even if they didn't have the other symptoms you mention. Hope she's feeling better soon.

MrsHeffley · 25/01/2012 22:26

My dd has had exactly that and I kept her off the last 2 days.

Gooshka · 25/01/2012 22:27

YANBU to want to keep her off school - you know best and it sounds like and needs a bit if TLC Smile

Out of a total of 15 possible school attendances last week (3dc's) we managed 4.
And I wish calpol came in barrels.
Tuck her up with a movie and keep her germs to herself!

Sluttybuttons · 25/01/2012 22:33

Thank you for that. In my head i know she should be off (probably should have been off the rest of the week too) but since going back to school she has been off about 8 days with various things and i received a letter about her attendance yesterday.

I'd decide in the morning.

dandelionss · 25/01/2012 22:51

You should never send a child to school with a fever!! Shock

OlympicEater · 25/01/2012 22:56

I feel your pain, my DCs attendance is really poor through ill health in the winter, but I know how I feel when I have a nasty cold and the thought of being forced into school to do lessons and PE with all the noise etc not to mention passing their germs onto others, and I really think staying home is the best option
