to wash Teddy Playgroup?!

DS1 came home with the pre-school teddy this weekend and I had to stick him in the wash as he reeked of fags and super-sweet perfume.
I'm 5 weeks pregnant and could smell him even in the cupboard!
Gave him a quick spin in the washing machine to freshen him up but obviously I won't mention it when we write up the diary!

I just know DS is going to mention it to the ladies at pre-school and they're going to think I'm a knob!

Yanbu to wash it, those teddies must be filthy with so many grubby little fingers touching them.

fuzzysnout · 23/01/2012 18:17

You could always claim he got dropped in the mud or covered in jam or something. Wink

Kladdkaka · 23/01/2012 18:18

You could smell him even in the cupboard! You kept him in a cupboard! You wicked woman. Poor, poor Teddy :(

cubbie · 23/01/2012 18:19

YANBU at all!!!!!!!!!
I think I'd have done the same, fag smell etc notwithstanding! I don't really want my DC cuddling up with a teddy that has been God knows where, I know what my own DC's teddies get like and what they are subjected to!!

We had a teddy of some sort home before Xmas but I'm afraid we did nothing and wrote nothing, no 'photos, nothing. Too blooming tired, too much going on. I did ask my Mum to pass on my apologies when she took DS1 in on Monday. I HATE these kind of things, though I can see why they do them.

I doubt the ladies will think anything of it, probably be glad that someone washed the teddy!

blondiep14 · 23/01/2012 18:19

Phew!
Even his toothbrush and comb stink so they're in soak too Blush.

I think I'm feeling Teddy guilt as we haven't taken him anywhere except the washing machine and airing cupboard Grin

Lol!! I work in a preschool and believe me, we would be more than happy for you to wash teddy. Maybe next time you could throw in the painting aprons with him.
