To think that January is a crap time to make new year resolutions that involve diets?

It's cold, it's dark. I don't want to eat salad; I want hearty casseroles etc. I also feel that after the binge that is Christmas I don't then want the opposite extreme of doing a diet. I want to loose a bit more wieght but will be starting the really healthy diet in spring and not in winter time.

I know, just cut the carbs as kmuch as poss..

northcountrygirl · 22/01/2012 21:50

I know - it's so easy to cover up in flattering sweater dresses too!

MuckyCarpet · 22/01/2012 21:53

Diets are stupid and pointless anyway. Nothing wrong with a penis casserole, it's portion sizes that are the problem. You can eat absolutely anything as long as you're not greedy with it.

Ineedadollar · 22/01/2012 21:54

A penis casserole?! Confused

inatrance · 22/01/2012 21:54

Grin at penis casserole!

You can eat anything you like on a diet, casseroles included - just cook it in a low fat way, watch the portion and keep some sort of food diary online to track cals. Easy peasy! I'm into my third week now and 12lb down so far. Haven't felt hungry once.

lubeybooby · 22/01/2012 21:56

Maybe not penis casserole though Shock

NormanTheForeman · 22/01/2012 21:56

I quite agree! In January we usually have loads of Christmas cake/chocs etc to use up, so there is no point starting any sort of healthy eating plan until those things have been used up.

GravityDefier · 22/01/2012 21:57

Mucky, care to share the recipe? How many penises (is this the correct plural?) do I need?

I agree with you toptramp. I always find it easier to reduce my food intake in summer when it's hot and I don't feel like having warm and hearty meals, but am happy with a salad or some fruit.
But if I don't start now I won't be where I'd like to be in summer, unfortunately

thepeoplesprincess · 22/01/2012 22:01

Bollock crumble and custard for afters?

There's nowt wrong with casseroles or stews anyway, depending on how you make them.

It's stuff like giant kebabs and tins of Roses you need to steer clear of.

ThePopsicleKat · 22/01/2012 22:14

I'm always greedy with my penis casserole Grin

What I want to know is what MuckyCarpet was writing when it auto- corrected.

Anyway, was it pork sword casserole? beef bayonet casserole? Does anyone remember the "slam in the lamb" ads?

You can have casseroles and lose weight. Just trim the excess fat of the penis meat, and watch the oil. Its all good stuff.

I'm back on Slimming World and had Pork in Cider casserole for dinner yesterday, and am have Steak and Ale stew for tea today, all free. (apart from the ale/cider, but you just use your daily allowance of syns).

I crave comfort food and stodge in this murky and dank period of the year.

OnlyANinja · 23/01/2012 09:23

Cut the carbs?

It's January. It's cold and dark and winter. Carbs are your friend.

CoffeeCamel · 23/01/2012 09:31

Intrigued by the penis casserole Grin.

I'm perpetually freezing at the best of times and just can't face a cold plate of cold salad at this time of year. Cutting out carbs makes me even colder. But I'm doing quite well so far by eating loads of soup, which is warming, filling and comforting. Casseroles of all sorts are also good - I just take a much smaller portion of carbs and often eat it from a bowl like soup so I don't miss the potato, etc. Still have a couple of slices of bread with lunch so am not completely cutting them out. 4lb down so far, which isn't much but I don't have much to lose.

Ineedadollar · 23/01/2012 19:26

Muckycarpet - please please come back and tell us about penis casserole! XP is coming to dinner this weekend and it sounds entirely appropriate for the occasion Grin
