urgent help - britain's got talent?!

just had a phonecall for my 12 yo DD, allegedly from someone at BGT - sounded like an adult, asked for DD by name, had she had the email and if so they have an audition slot for her this Sunday.

Now... DD is lovely BUT I'm not sure that she has any particularly discernible talents, and if she did that I would want her displaying them on BGT and potentially receiving a massive put down.

she is not home from school yet - what do I do? mention the call? ask her if she's had any emails? ask her what the hell she's doing applying for BGT without telling me?

HELP!!

i had the same and agreed she could go.

her mates went the day before and waited for 11 hours, i was strangly too ill to go the next day!!

She has no descerible talent either and didn't want her disapointed.!

Blimey - they're definitely auditioning at the moment so it could be real. Did you take their number - can you ring back and double check it before you talk to your DD?

You definitely need to tell her I think - ask her what it's about - she might have applied with friends in a group for something??

Unless I thought dd had a huge chance then I doubt I would be rushing along.

God no I dont want her to do it... but she may have cooked something up with friends. Am pretty sure they dont have a huge talent between them (not being mean, just realistic!) and even if they did, they are 12 fgs.

the caller said I didnt need to ring back, but I'm pretty sure it was an adult. just that if she had the email she could just come along. wherever it is it wont be anywhere near here.

DDs are back from school, but she has not yet checked her email; think I will have a little chat while DD1 is otherwise engaged (slumped in front of TV!)

What is the harm in letting them go? providing it isnt too far to travel or costs too much to get there.. If they are crap they wont get through.. if they are really crap they may get on the telly anyway..

And if they are talented at something then they may be noticed..

she looked absolutely horrified at the prospect!! and said "god no, I'd piss my pants"!!! (must have word re Language)

hasnt checked her email since weds, so can only assume it was someone mucking around.
