.. you know the chain ones, with the gist if you like me as much as I like you you'l reply to me and 5 others.
the people sending them i genuinely like and don't want to offend mostly middle-aged women , not teens.I normally reply just to them , def not forward it on.But I hate them and don't want to respond.Do you think a person needy enough to send them in the first place would be offended if you don't send them back.

I never respond as I hate them too. I hardly get them at all now and no one has seemed offended.

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 13/01/2012 09:36

I ignore all chain messages of any sort, whether or not they come with threats. I still get them from time to time and haven't lost any friends over it.

theincredibequeenofwands · 13/01/2012 09:39

I ignore them.

I'm not 12.

Hmm

Waste of time.

Eglu · 13/01/2012 09:41

If you ignore them then they may stop sending them to you. I never reply to them.

CailinDana · 13/01/2012 10:09

My MIL sends me them sometimes, I just ignore them.

lubeybooby · 13/01/2012 10:11

I ignore them completely

Delete!

PinkWinePixie · 13/01/2012 10:20

I always think they must originate from the mobile companies when they're having a slow day!

BallerinaBetty · 13/01/2012 12:41

I'm glad its not just me who hates them too! I get really upset sometimes by the ones that threaten that something bad will happen if I dont forward them - so to get round it I forward it however many times to dh and he just deletes!!

RosemaryVonHerb · 13/01/2012 12:56

Yes, ignore. What a waste of time.

oflip · 13/01/2012 12:59

delete them straight away.

hadnt considered offending anyone, tbh.
Think they all know im a miserable owd bag and so no probs.

Jux · 13/01/2012 13:08

Ignore ignore ignore. I knew someone who used to send me those things, it drove me crazy - it was almost hte only contact we had anyway so of course I didn't bother reading, let alone replying. Eventually, I bumped into her one day and just told her to stop sending me these things. Then I got a new sim just in case.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 13/01/2012 13:09

Hit that delete button!

PrincessWellington · 13/01/2012 13:10

I had one that said your mother will die if you don't send this on. I got annoyed enough to text back and say what a load of crap and that I wouldn't be passing it on. Angry

OnlyANinja · 13/01/2012 13:13

YANBU to hate them, but why are you still receiving them?

Reply and tell them you are happy that they like you but you'd rather not get any chain texts.

If you reply and send back the message they how are they to know that you don't like them?

iceandsliceplease · 13/01/2012 13:17

I hate them too. Normally I ignore & delete, but when a quite good friend fwd'd the one about the James Bulger case I was compelled to hit 'Reply all' and have a good rant clear up a few points.

People who put things like that as their facebook status annoy me too.
