In thinking there is something properly, deeply wrong with Jedward?

I never felt much towards them either way, but the more I watch of them lately the more they make me genuinely uncomfortable.

A bit of Googling reveals that there have been murmurs that they're maybe Autistic, but that's been strongly denied by their manager.

It's just.... I dunno. I accept that probably, they mostly behave like they do because they've always got each other for affirmation, unconditional approval and whatnot, but something just isn't RIGHT about them.

What do you lot reckon?

They're just a pair of gobshites.

tooearlymustdache · 11/01/2012 18:10

i love the Jedwards

really, i do.

Methe · 11/01/2012 18:12

I want to know how they do their hair!

usualsuspect · 11/01/2012 18:12

I'm fascinated by them

veryconfusedatthemoment · 11/01/2012 18:13

Nothing wrong with them................accordingly to my DS age 6! He loves them!

Sposh · 11/01/2012 18:13

Ever seen that film There's Something about Mary, Meth?

cornastasiaski · 11/01/2012 18:13

I love them as well. They aren't shagging anything that moves like Frankie Cocozza or falling out of clubs pissed up. I think they're very sweet boys.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 11/01/2012 18:20

They are really, really polite, kind, and patient with their legions of very young fans.

They are also supposed to be very reliable and hardworking - ie no showing up two hours late hungover etc, they only need to be told something once, no sulking or strops - which I imagine helps their career enormously as people don't mind working with them again.

BlueFergie · 11/01/2012 18:22

Yes I thought they were from Lucan too which is Dublin? Also pretty sure they went to the Institute for 5th and 6th year which would have its fair share of d4 heads. That would have helped the development of the accent.

BabeRuthless · 11/01/2012 18:26

One of my friends has interviewed them a couple of times and says they are exactly you see them on the tv. You could argue they're putting an act on for her but it's a pretty convincing one.

Bet they're huge in Japan

Fleurdebleurgh · 11/01/2012 18:27

I love them. They are Jepic.

I think they know exactly what theyre about, and i think theyre encouraged to fulfill the role people have come to expect from them.

TheParanoidAndroid · 11/01/2012 18:31

They are considerably richer than yew. And by all accounts they are pleasant, hard-working, don't drink or smoke and are kind to their mother and small animals.

Who gives a fuck if something is a bit different about them? Don't look if it bothers you.

ravenAK · 11/01/2012 18:46

I know their tour manager slightly.

She's worked with some, erm, more credible acts, but she LOVES Jedward - apparently they're quite genuinely easy going, happy souls, nothing too much trouble, consistently sweet to fans, do loads for charidee...

SuePurblybilt · 11/01/2012 19:29

I can't watch 8/10 cats because of his laugh. The smug one. Jimmy Carr.

Did they say that one was normal? I have believed that since XF, one knows EXACTLY what he's about. The other is two apples short of a good time.

SuePurblybilt · 11/01/2012 19:30

And I meant normal as opposed to their crayzee stage persona, nowt to do with possible SN or whatever people speculate about.

cocoachannel · 11/01/2012 19:40

What stood out for DH and me during their 8 out of 10 Cats appearance was the fact that one of them barely spoke, and the other was near manic. Agree that the bullying went too far.

fuzzynavel · 11/01/2012 19:48

I wouldn't like to be in their heads at 30.

They are young and whilst I have to switch them off the tv as find them incredibly annoying at best, I do feel they are very exploited which is Sad

I have a feeling no matter what they've earned or continue to earn they will end up damaged.

SolpadeineMaxed · 11/01/2012 21:04

Aren't they pretty though. Quite like Jedward.

RedBlanket · 11/01/2012 21:27

Solapadeine - very pretty.
On Big bro they split them up for one night an it was an interesting to see how different they were when not together. One made a big effort to talk to the others while the other one stood at the window watching his brother. Agree one is a bit more bonkers than the other but they play it up.

CalamityKate · 11/01/2012 21:47

If I remember rightly, when they were on CBB, BB suggested splitting them up and one was all "Yay!!" and the other one was all "Nooooo!"

It's heartening to hear that they're apparently nice lads. I would actually like to think that, rather than thinking they're evil little elves!

TroublesomeEx · 12/01/2012 06:50

coco well clearly they didn't think it went too far, they were on the Christmas one too.

They shouldn't be playing with the big kids if they can't handle it!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 12/01/2012 07:01

I saw celebrity wedding planners, initially I thought they'd really balls it up, but they did a fair job of it.
Agree that one is more 'out there' than the other. I understand they always stand in the same way. John on the right, Edward on the left. I felt really sorry for Edward. He seemed resigned when they had to shout their 'I'm John, I'm Edward and we are Jedward' intro at everyone.
What happens when one of them finds a partner?
Saw them on 8/10 cats too. The bullying was horrible, but neither seemed to register it.

pictish · 12/01/2012 07:09

They were on Allan Carr, with Ruth Jones recently - maybe the xmas spesh or something. She has lost a lot of weight and is looking very polished and elegant these days...and they were doing the usual interrupting and upstaging...and somehow or another their carry on ended up with them tipping a tub of blue hair gel over Ruth Jones's hair.
She was not pleased and had to continue the rest of the show with her head and face slathered in the stuff. It was totally uncalled for.
I thought they were vile to do that, and although she held it together well, it was clear she wanted to smack fuck out of them.
I don't know if there's anything 'wrong' with them, but I know what a apr of ill mannered twats I think they are.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 12/01/2012 07:25

I saw that too pictish. I watched it with my 10.8 DD. She was amazed that Nessa didn't smack them. She's a huge Ruth Jones fan.
It is almost as if their impulse switch can't be turned off.

pigletmania · 12/01/2012 08:06

They are annoying talentless twats!
