Whilst it's nice to walk down the High Street in sweater and jeans, it can't be right for January can it

I agree, it is far too mild where I live. I keep looking at the snowboots, bought in October ready for the severe winter we were going to have, and sighing.

I do feel the cold but I walked the DCs to school this morning wearing a blouse and a thin cardi. Not right.

ElectricSoftParade · 10/01/2012 14:54

Well, actually, I did wear some other clothes as well. Just a blouse and cardi really would not have been right at all Blush.

TroublesomeEx · 10/01/2012 14:55

It should. But then given how cold it was last year and for how long, we were probably due a milder winter!

WinterIsComing · 10/01/2012 14:59

It is lovely. And cheap.

Don't fucking jinx it.

Plenty of time for snow. We had lovely big snowflakes which didn't settle in December. The DC were all, "It's SNOWING" and DH and I said, "Oh FUCK" but it worked out well.

In fact, I think that perhaps I AM responsible for the mild weather. I bought YakTrax and got all prepared.

I bought sun-screen in June and that was the end of the "summer" we had.

noexcuses · 10/01/2012 15:02

Winter I am equaly responsible as gave many sets of yaktrax last Xmas & no snow in this counlty since Grin

It is all wrong though. My climbing rose is in bud as is next doors lilac tree. The birds aren't even that interested in the seeds we put out.

noexcuses · 10/01/2012 15:03

See I'm so warm my brain is fugged and I can't spell.

DietintheNewYear · 10/01/2012 15:04

Jinxed it already by stocking up on rock salt from Wickes.

I've not worn a hat or gloves yet - its very weird

thementalist · 10/01/2012 15:08

Agree I spent a fortune on boots, coats, hats etc for us all after last year and apart from 2 days of snow they are all lying unused. Mine will keep til next winter but not dd's Sad
