i have a 2 year old and she enjoys jumping in muddy puddles, so i can relate to the story.

but i don't think the cartoon alone can make children naughty

I have heard this opinion on here before but I am lucky enough to not have seen it yet. I am watching thread with interest

BreadCrumbsandButterBeans · 09/01/2012 16:00

So this a thread about a DM article, which itself is an article about a MN thread?

sillybillies · 09/01/2012 16:01

I don't think Just William was too well behaved either and that generation grew up ok.

Daft stuff.

Dillydollydaydream · 09/01/2012 16:06

My ds loves jumping in puddles with his wellies on. I wouldn't say it's naughty behaviour at all it's good fun!

MrsWifty · 09/01/2012 16:09

Breadcrumbs I think this is the second thread about an article about a thread.

Happydogsaddog · 09/01/2012 16:21

I disagree with the puddles part but do agree with the rudeness (especially directed at daddy pig) my dd1 couldn't understand when she got a very public telling off for saying daddy's big tummy, then I laughed and said oh its from PP and MIL gave me a withering look Sad then I realised I was condoning bad behaviour because a cartoon says its okay

I watched tom and jerry a lot but I'm yet to chase people around trying to hit them with a frying pan!

i agree with gothic, when mine were little it was teletubbies then tweenies etc etc all the shows got blamed for something or other!

mrsjay · 09/01/2012 17:11

there has been naughty children/pigs/etc etc on tv forever they dont make children naughty imo , i think parents who are blaming tv need to turn peppa pig off , she is a bit of a madame though Grin

I think PP is pretty harmless to be honest. My DCs (3.5 and nearly 2) are a bit like P and G Pig but that's because that's what kids are like surely?? I think you do need to exercise caution over what kids watch but PP is not a particularly bad example; just showing family life how it if for many of us.

BreadCrumbs For all the overt hatred of the Daily Heil on MN, it's definitely a symbiotic relationship Grin
