My youngest son's dsi xl is broken. He is inconsolable. Tantrum city! (autistic)

I know that with the new 3DS, people may have upgraded, so long long long shot - is anyone selling their old dsixl or knows someone that is? On ebay they are going for about the same as a bloody new one and I can't afford even half that!

I know it's a long shot, but I thought it doesn't hurt to ask!

I can ask DD2, but it's pink so he may not be interested in it.

I tend to wear tights (warmer around my lady area) so am not in need of garters right now.

On the other hand I would like to point out that you are not above using MN in a tidy fashion.

What's wrong with it? commonly it's the screen that goes and you can replace those cheaply.

I'll ask her - she's back at school now and this isn't an exeat weekend, so she's likely to be chatting shit with her friends - I shall try and get in touch with her this evening/over the weekend, but she's 17 and is more interested in her phone these days, so likely that you can have it. It may well be somewhere in the shit pit that is her bedroom, so I shall let you know once I've spoken with her.

I might ask them to move it. I do, after all, moan about things in the wrong section and have even offered my services to file things, so it does make me a bit of a hypocrite and I'm a bit scared of Trills

Have you tried calling Nintendo? The screen broke on DS1's after he repeatedly banged it on the floor in temper and the cartridge slot and charging connector were getting a bit dodgy as well. They repaired it for free despite me telling them that it was DS1 that broke it AND me not having a receipt. The guy on the phone said there would be a charge but it arrived back repaired with no invoice or anything. If you request a repair on their site, they send you a freepost label, and then they'd call you with a quote before repairing. I'm sure their site said the maximum charge was £60. Worth getting a quote maybe?

Is it a cartridge with lots of games on it? This is what happened to dd's - I replaced the cartridge and it was fine.

Official site here. The repairs cost guideline thing says £29 for a minor repair, £68.50 for a major repair, and you get a new one year warranty after the repair is done.

I just got my son's ds fixed by nintendo. They charged about £60, but effectively sent me a new one (or is blooming well looks like new, anyway!).
