to wonder why the London 2012 ticketing site doesn't update correctly?

Am trying to buy tickets in the resale process. Every time I select tickets showing as available I get told they're not available when I try to checkout. I've tried all different prices/events/no. of tickets.

So, I can accept that someone else might beat me to it by a simultaneous purchase but why then are the same tickets still showing as being available over an hour later and yet when I even select 1 ticket I still can't buy them because they come back as unavailable Angry

I know I'm not alone having seen people complaining of the same thing on the Telegraph site.

So, my Q is, has anyone been successful? And, more importantly for me, does anyone know whether more tickets for resale can be added during this resale window up to 6 Feb or are all those tickets that people want to sell already on the site and it's just that people have till 6 Feb to buy? Confused

The whole ticketing system has been a total sham.

Doing my head in too.

Pedallleur · 06/01/2012 14:02

Maybe the site has crashed/they are not on sale yet.

MurderOfProse · 06/01/2012 14:11

Seems they've suspended sales due to the faults - the blame is with Ticketmaster!

Thanks for the update. I've been sat in a cafe most of the morning and hadn't realised that the BBC, Radio 4, 5Live etc have all been talking about this pretty much non-stop.

Let's hope they sort it soon Hmm

I heard that the international governing board has loads of rules about how the whole event is run, which partly explains the ridiculous lottery system (same system for last 40 years & they aren't changing it for Nobody Wink :().
Partly the same with the resale system I bet, done to all sorts of rules we don't' even know about.

It's working now......

I am Sad about the ticketing. I failed in the first round, in the 2nd round I was one of the unlucky 10,000 who got told they had tickets and then got told 'oops sorry' - we didn't get offered other events though unlike the Synchro tickets this week... I'd hoped that people in my position would get maybe a week's priority on resale but apparently not. I thought I'd try on spec this morning and got caught up in today's farce of tickets showing, getting them in your basket and then getting told they weren't available.

Now they've taken the whole site offline whilst they try to sort it out (again!).

Everyone is very critical but remember the empty seats at stadiums in China in 2008?

At least the seats will be filled this time.

Acekicker · 06/01/2012 18:22

True Josie but the way they've gone about ticketing has just kept frustrating many genuine sports fans. I'm particularly aggrieved at not getting priority on the resale and yet there are people who have managed to get 'more' tickets (whilst the system was up)... They made fundamental errors such as using the 'ballot' systems for 'first come first served' stages which meant they didn't get the benefit of the 30 min basket you normally get for FCFS so when they had problems at the Visa end of payments tickets in baskets just went up in a puff of smoke (gig tickets/show tickets normally sit allocated to one person for 20 or 30 mins in my experience).

messmonster · 06/01/2012 19:27

I've just checked back again and all the events that I was looking at previously that were showing availability are now saying no tickets found. This was probably the case from very early on this morning but their sh*te website hasn't been working correctly and probably thousands like me have wasted hours in the vain hope that maybe, just maybe they might get lucky. V frustrating and disappointing and let's hope they've got it right and every single event will be full to the rafters.

by the time the Games are on, E-bay/GetMeIn etc will be awash with overpriced tickets from people wanting to cah in and prob. Ticketmaster who will see them for well over the faace value via their secondary site
