i still would.

slavetofilofax · 01/01/2012 01:04

Would you? Shock

Wouldn't you worry that he was going to do something dodgy to your mind? Like the Phantom of the opera?

MartyrStewart · 01/01/2012 01:05

To be fair, I am not his type.

But I still would, if he offered Grin

nobodysfool · 01/01/2012 01:26

I believe his long term boyfriend is more his type Wink

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 01/01/2012 01:26

Do you think he'd change his mind for both of us Martyr?

I know I shouldn't but I just so would blow his little eyebrows skyhigh

HollyPricklesMyFanjo · 01/01/2012 01:31

Hands off...He's mine!! Grin

ThatVikRinA22 · 01/01/2012 01:32

MayaAngelsFromTheRealmsOfCool · 01/01/2012 01:42

I cannot abide the man. He is the apogee of control freakery.

Rerevisionist · 01/01/2012 02:43

He's a highly-skilled entertainer, who pretty much invented himself from university on, and mastered quite a few obscure and difficult psychological tricks. (He also of course has a huge back-up staff - no doubt the failures and mistakes are edited out). And he makes no pretence - he's entirely upfront about not being able to read minds, and about his uneasiness sometimes in pretending to do so. I'm told he pretends to be 'gay' so he can sh*g lots of women, under the pretext that they can help him overcome his fear of women.

[NOTE: I MADE UP THAT LAST BIT]

Red2011 · 01/01/2012 10:23

I think he's a fantastic illusionist/entertainer. I've been to several of his live shows and they're great. Even when you know you're being fooled, you still can't help but be fooled.

Far, far superior to David Copperfield and that looney David Blane.

Rerevisionist I did actually wonder the same thing as you a few years ago (about the pretending to be gay). Who can be sure that anything the man says is true? :)

FairToMiddlin · 01/01/2012 10:26

He scares me.

But in a good way Smile

nobodysfool · 01/01/2012 10:32

I have seen three if his live shows and I love it when he explains how he did it that just freaks me out. He is one of the best entertainers third come out of the country and comes across as a normal decent guy who has worked incredibly hard at his craft.i totally agree with him being attractive - But I do usually find gay men attractive Blush whats that all about???Grin

UserNameNotAvailable · 01/01/2012 10:59

Don't watch Derren but atm really like Dynamo, he's really good.

Oeufman · 01/01/2012 11:05

He is lovely. I had the privilege of being at one of his very first performances (I think it was his actual first) in our halls of residence at Bristol University. He was in the same year as year as me (Law student I think). He was a very sound decent guy who worked incredibly hard to develop his art.
He had (at that time) no back up staff - but managed to pull off the most spectacular show, including rewarding the students involved with being able to drink water until midnight and think it was their favourite drink.... One guy got absolutely sloshed on his single malt whiskey water!
He wore the spectacular gown off stage, had the goatee and was just a sound guy! Well done to him!

partytights · 01/01/2012 14:55

I can't help but sit open mouthed when I watch his shows (on TV, not been lucky enough to see him live). I think he is fantastic but just so fantastic at what he does.

He has failures but a REAL witchy man would need failures to not perpetuate the 'myth' that he is a witchy man.

Snapespeare · 01/01/2012 15:14

he is fabulous. I luff him too :)

took DS1 to his show on DS's 12th birthday, we met him at the stage door for autographs and he is the lovliest, kindest man, I absolutely ADORE him.

hocuspontas · 01/01/2012 15:26

Dd3's Xmas present was 2 tickets for Milton Keynes next month. Can't wait! (Hope she picks me to go with her and not a friend!) She is infatuated with him and is a bit miffed with me for only being able to get tickets in the gods. For those that have been to a live show, will it be a lesser experience being up so high?

Moominsarescary · 01/01/2012 17:48

I would be worried about meeting him incase he realy could read my mind
