I just cannot be chowed..... I was out this evening for a friends birthday. We started off at another friends house for drinks and nibbles, and the plan was to go in to town for drinks. Basically by six this evening I was dreading it. I'ts nothing to do with the company, it's the timing. I'll say it once and say it proud. I can't be arsed to go out at night anymore. Thankfully my friends understand I'm crap at night, and waved me off home in a cab at 10 as they left to hit the pub. I'm curled up on the sofa happy now, but can't help thinking..... am I a freak?

GingerSnapsBack · 28/12/2011 00:05

I like going out in the day and staying home at night. I don't think it's weird. I don't think anything harmless that I like is weird.

I've never liked it, not even as a teen! Always been a homely person :)

ladyfirenze · 28/12/2011 00:44

I agree to things beforehand, and at that point, I'm well up for it. On the day, as the evening draws in I begin feeling tired, then actually start to feel poorly. I reckon it's my body starting to die.....

I just don't know if I can be arsed with going out especially staying out until gone midnight...,, I'd rather be tucked up on my sofa watching tv....how boring am I

Lady not just me then :o I always get funny looks for that

spiderslegs · 28/12/2011 02:05

Nope, in is the way to go, I hate 'out' now, bloody expensive drinks, £60 round trip in a taxi from mine, can't smoke (I have a large house where there are areas you can), loud, shit music, it's either full of middle agers being sensible & making me feel old & ill or the youth maiking me feel old & ill.

Pah.

redheadsunited · 28/12/2011 02:34

Not a freak at all. Whilst I love the occasional mad night out- I love nothing better than a night in with hubby, babbies, choc and magazines...bliss

ClaraSage · 28/12/2011 09:56

I LOVE staying in on NYE. Just perfect. Lots of people out trying to have fun and we're sat in with an M&S meal and a bottle of Champagne. The teens are out, so pure bliss.
Happy New Year !

ClaraSage · 28/12/2011 09:58

Oh and posh chocs too (failing that , donations from teen's selection boxes)

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 28/12/2011 10:10

I'm 28 and id rather be at home then out, am quite happy to have friends over but even then by 9pm find myself wishing they would go home, maybe I'm just really unsociable

Winkly · 28/12/2011 10:46

I like afternoon drinks, I'm not great at night.

One of my favourite 'nights' out started at 9am for the Rugby World Cup. AND its so much easier to get home in mid-afternoon!

Sparklingbrook · 28/12/2011 10:47

I can't do standing up at pubs any more. Sad

ladyfirenze · 28/12/2011 13:29

right that's settled then :o

banana87 · 28/12/2011 13:30

Nope, I'm the same Grin

Vizzini · 28/12/2011 14:05

YANBU. I'm 28 and hate going out now! If DD (22 months) is being looked after at home then I know I'll have to be up early. If she's staying out it seems a waste to not go to bed at eight and have twelve hours' uninterrupted sleep! I do enjoy it once I'm out though, it's mainly the thought of it!
Luckily DH is of the same opinion!

PoultryInMotion · 28/12/2011 14:12

I'm the same! And I'm 26!

I like going out for meals (not that I get to do it that often these days!) but I get all antsy if people suggest booking the table for 8pm Grin

All I can think is

  • by the time you actually get your order it's closer to 9pm
  • which is about 4.5 3 hours later than I usually have tea
  • which means we wont be finished eating til past 11 (if it's a three courser)
  • then you have to get home
  • and get into bed about 3 hours past my usual bed and cup of tea time!

I'd love to go out for lunch for a change!

And as for bar hopping, forget it! I found it boring when I was 18, I'm certainly not going to enjoy it now!
