To take this as a sign?

I believe I am destined to not iron.

My iron broke.
I borrowed one from my mum
It also did not work.
While waiting for the borrowed iron to cool down so I could use my old not quite as bad iron, I rested my feet on ironing board...

... Which promptly collapsed and is broken beyond repair.

AIBU to take this as a sign that I should just not be bothering to iron at all? It seems destined not to happen

Yanbu at all. Sit down. Have Wine.

TheArmadillo · 23/12/2011 20:55

You should definately take that as a sign. The universe has spoken.

cantspel · 23/12/2011 20:56

God is telling you to buy a steam press.

OldLadyKnowsSantaClaus · 23/12/2011 20:56

Damn, that should hve been Wine.

OldLadyKnowsSantaClaus · 23/12/2011 20:56

Oh, it is Wine. i'm slow tonight.

bucketbetty · 23/12/2011 20:57

Folf it in a nice neat, guilt free pile and place it neatly in a cupboard. have a glass of wine and put your feet up for a well deserved rest. You're worth it. Xmas Smile

Purplehonesty · 23/12/2011 20:58

Yes you should immediately put the ironing away and buy new already flat clothes from shop tomorrow

Purplehonesty · 23/12/2011 20:59

I mean no. Not BU

bucketbetty · 23/12/2011 20:59

Fold not folf.

Melpomene · 23/12/2011 21:00

I'm trying to imagine how you managed to rest your feet on the ironing board; mine is way too high to do that.

ClutchingAtMyPearls · 23/12/2011 21:02

What is this 'ironing' of which you speak?

Bumpinthenight · 23/12/2011 21:03

Wish that would happen here...About 4 hours of ironing left to go!

mominamillion · 23/12/2011 21:03

How do you folf betty? Is this a new housekeeping technique I have missed?

Yanbu kayano to take this as a sign. Although you wbu to attempt to iron in the first place. It makes us non-ironers look slothful.

HappyHippyChick · 23/12/2011 21:05

When the universe speaks like that you should not ignore it! In fact trying further to iron could piss off the universe and no-one wants to do that! Xmas Wink

RandomMess · 23/12/2011 21:06

YABU

You should never have even considered ironing in the first place.

I have only ever ironed the occasional item of clothing, wash, low spin, shake and hang on clothes hanger to dry. Sorted.

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 23/12/2011 21:08

Just imagine what could happen next time you try to iron, the electrics in your whole house could go! Xmas Shock

It is a sign. The universe has spoken.
