My DSS complained within 1 minute of arriving at our house.

So DSS (19) got to our house just after 9pm, and was instantly miffed.

Because his little [half]brother and sister were already in bed and he wouldn't get to see them until the morning!

Aww :)

Ok clearly IABU for the deliberately misleading thread title, apologies, but AIBU to suggest a nice positive thread where you can add something that's made you go 'aww' lately? :o

Clearly you are evil and need to make the kids equal by having sent him straight to bed himself Wink

Kayano · 22/12/2011 11:25

But.. aww Grin

Cherriesarelovely · 22/12/2011 11:26

That is so lovely! Sounds like my nephews and their Dss. They absolutely dote on them. I always think it must be so wonderful for my neices to have 2 superb older stepbrothers like that! Hope you enjoy Christmas with your family!

Gigondas · 22/12/2011 11:26

No my dsc are same- dss (21) been around loads as basically likes doing the same things and eating same things as dd (3) Xmas Grin

Gonzo33 · 22/12/2011 11:28

Awww, I hope my DSS is like that at his age Xmas Grin

LordOfTheFlies · 22/12/2011 11:31

How did you manage to get the DC to bed when their big brother was coming to see them?

Rubber mallet? Sleeping tablets? Cryogenic Stasis? Xmas Grin

Moominsarescary · 22/12/2011 11:38

My ds who is 17 is like that when he gets back from work late and his baby brother (9months) is in bed

EverybodyKnows · 22/12/2011 11:53

YANBU Xmas Grin

RaraGigglePixie · 22/12/2011 12:03

Awwww.

Wish my Dss was like that. He's such a lovely kid generally but he makes no secret of the fact he hates not being an only child anymore. Sad

aldiwhore · 22/12/2011 12:12

Awww really nice to see a thread about a happy SM and DSC!

My eldest announced he doesn't really want any Christmas presents as he already has everything he wants... us lot. Aww. Tempted to test the statement by returning all his gifts and buying 'us lot' something nice! Wink

aldiwhore · 22/12/2011 12:13

rara my two boys get on wonderfully, but whenever youngest is in bed and eldest is still up (he's 8) he declares wistfully that its 'like the good old days'! x

andaPontyinaPearTreeeeee · 22/12/2011 12:55

Hehe I didn't send him to bed - he actually brought his GF to meet us for the first time so we (and DSDs who I'd picked up earlier) stayed up late playing games well into the night :)

🚨 ZOMBIE ALERT 🚨

OK I know this is an insanely old thread and IABU for bumping it. But bear with me. I’ve been looking through old threads for something else and I saw this title. Instantly felt anxious and wondered why DSS had been annoyed about something - don’t get me wrong being a step parent hasn’t all been easy but I couldn’t remember anything like that.

Anyway reading it just made me so happy. It’s been the most horrendous week for various reasons and it was just what I needed to see.

And I have an update. We actually had our last baby years after this - 25 years between them in fact! And he is just the same with her :o it makes me so happy they all have each other.

Ifixfastjets · 01/04/2021 13:57

We had a lie in today as dd had a dr appt at 10.
Teen ds came and checked I was awake as we hadn't gone to school
Then he made us breakfast.

Ifixfastjets · 01/04/2021 13:59

FooFighter99 · 01/04/2021 14:01

Ahh my DSD(20, lives with us) is like that with DD(9) her little (half)sister

Takes her to the shop, picks her up from school, entertains her by playing minecraft Smile
