Know it's been done before but AIBU to be gobsmacked by this post. Along the lines of moving to new place so need pretty much everything. Would need to deliver as I don't drive.

Our Freecycle recently - Wanted, 42" flat screen tv for Christmas. Can't collect as no car so you will need to deliver to us please.

WorraLiberty · 20/12/2011 11:05

Apart from the lack of 'please', I can't see anything wrong with it.

I don't think they're allowed to offer petrol money, but that doesn't mean they won't offer in private.

Either way, it still keeps the stuff out of landfill sites which is the whole purpose.

The facebook buy and sell page for my area is the same. I want this but you must deliver it to me. Despite the seller putting COLLECTION ONLY. Some people have no shame.

I once posted details of a child's coat I was giving away on freecycle. I couldn't post a photo as my camera had broken. I got a really stroppy response from a woman saying she wanted to see a photo as she wasnt' prepared to accept anything without a photo. I replied saying the clue is in the name and it is FREEcycle not Ebay, and that she either wanted to be considered for the item or she didn't. Then I gave it to someone else!

Frostyfoxy · 20/12/2011 11:08

Our local freecycle regulator won't post lists of things that are wanted by one person. That is just wrong OP, the nerve of some people!

Surely though if someone is doing you a favour and giving away stuff for free you would get someone to collect stuff for you.

Not if you don't have anyone to collect the stuff for you.
