Christmas Presents & boring neighbours

AIBU to be bored rigid by my neighbour going to great lengths to describe the fab dolls house she has bought for her DD for Christmas, including details of price & how many wonderful hours it will while away....my poor dab will just be getting a smaller mountain of gifts given as our house is stuffed to overflowing & I just wonder how much STUFF & toys kids really need these days....or am I just being jealous???

I would just have said "it sounds lovely, right you'll have to excuse me, I'm in a real rush this morning" and walked off.

I have no time for people that talk "at" me

Of course you are not being jealous, it's all about keeping things balanced, if your kids already have alot of toys, then they dont need to get mountains more.

Just smile sweetly and nod if she does it again, and enjoy your christmas with your kids

If there is any justice her DD will totally ignore it!!

Just tell her that you had one as a child, played with it a few times and ended up donating it to the local children's hospital because you didn't play with it after the new year. That'll annoy her Grin

Unless she is describing the present just to winding you up (and only you know this), I think YAB a bit U, she is just telling you what she's getting for her dd.
Each to their own in terms of presents chosen.
