To get stupidly mad when people open things the wrong way?

I don't mean a packet of crisps upside down but ripping open the side of the nappy bag cover rather than using the slit or opening tge top of tge napisan when there is a pouring spout. Why would you do that? Even postage bags from eBay should be cut open at the end not ripped in two from tge middle. Why? Why do they do this?

yanbu

bastards drive me Angry too.

1Catherine1 · 19/12/2011 12:19

Oh dear. That would only bug me if I was alrwady irritable. unless it is supposed to be resealable ans someone opens it in such a way that it isnt. then it is wasteful which really bugs me

pud1 · 19/12/2011 12:20

My oh does this all the time and it drives me mad. Even things that are designed to be resealed like cathedral city cheese. He will just cut down the side rather than across the top. I can't tell you how much it pisses me off

faeriefruitcake · 19/12/2011 13:42

OCD much?

SydneyLa · 19/12/2011 13:45

I tend to start off trying to open things carefully the "right way" but then if it's awkward and won't open, I turn al Homer Simpson and tear at it until the packaging is in bits.

I really wish I hadn't done that with a recent Argos parcel that I ended up having to send back. Trying to cellotape the box up again was a nightmare.

LovesBloominChristmas · 19/12/2011 13:50

It's not OCD when it's tge way it should be done is it? Xmas Blush

This sort of thing used to annoy me too, but I am much more laid back nowadays. Try it Xmas Wink

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 19/12/2011 14:31

Makes my blood boil! And, to make it worse, DP will open a new pot of something when the old one is still half full. Shampoo, hot chocolate, you name it we've got multiple containers in use. Makes me stabby.

1Catherine1 · 19/12/2011 14:50

lol. This thread really is a "show me how mad you are" thread. That is nothing GirlWithALlamaTattoo, my OH leaves stuff open. He will open a packet of biscuits and leave them open! He rips open the box of cereal like he is the incredible hulk (pulls the whole top off) and then opens the packet of cereal and the whole top not just the corner, and never rolls down the top when he's done. Drives me mad. Food gets ruined, it is so wasteful!

Ofc I would never admit this in RL, people would think I'd lost it...

SydneyLa · 19/12/2011 14:52

My ex used to leave bread loafs open. Used to make me murderous.

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 19/12/2011 15:00

1Catherine1 my blood pressure is rising just thinking about it!

aldiwhore · 19/12/2011 15:01

Can't say these things bother me, but I have to say if someone pointed out their rage at my opening something incorrectly, never ever would I open it the right way from then on. Smile

SacreLao · 19/12/2011 15:04

I completely agree with you!

But then again I get really annoyed with people who open crisp packets upside down Blush

chipmunksex · 19/12/2011 15:11

dh and ds do this, and they leave 1 weetabix in the packet and start a new one 'because they want 2' Hmm Angry That poor little weetabix left in the bottom of the packet.

Half used tubes of spot cream drive me around the twist, wtf can he not finish the old tube before opening a new one?

Sometimes I hide new packs of things until the old one is completely finished to prevent this happening.

Do not get me started on cereal packets being torn open vertically, so every time someone pours cereal it spills into the gap between the box and the bag- this is when I have to get my sticky tape out pretty quick.

Bonsoir · 19/12/2011 15:34

The DSSs are just appalling about this - three bottles of anti-acne wash on the go, fifteen toothbrushes, four half-used tubes of toothpaste, abandoned bottles of shower gel in the shower because they cannot be bothered to leave them the right way up so the gel flows...

LovesBloominChristmas · 19/12/2011 16:48

aldiwhore and that is why I am here and not telling them. I would too!

You've also reminded me about tge milk, a bottle is left out with a little left in it but the next one in the fridge has been started wtf Xmas Confused

GRRRRR DP leaves everything open, cheese, bread, the windows so the cat gets out. Drives me bonkers but he is otherwise lovely so I only shout if I'm in a bad mood

Insomnia11 · 19/12/2011 16:55

I think it would annoy me if it causes something to be spilt like a milk carton or for it to go off, but not otherwise.
