The day when the city centres will now be filled with vomit, the emergency services will have double the call outs due to drunks, normally finishing the week on half a lager, having their Christmas office session, collapsing in streets comatose.

Is it a British thing?

Should they pay for their ambulance pick up?

Have they paid enough in taxes already?

Should they grow up?

Or is it just once a year and we need to stop being so judgemental, afterall they'll pay for it tomorrow with the hangover from hell..............

The government want people to spend money to help the economy so perhaps they should be applauded for doing their bit?

ps. that was v. tongue in cheek!

ditavonteesed · 16/12/2011 17:35

omg I am going out tonight, and I hate any form of drunk people and fighting and stuff. scared now.

sitandnatter · 16/12/2011 17:36

Well it will employ the police, half of the NHS, they'll have paid for it with booze tax, council road cleaners will be fully occupied until the morning.

YOu have a point signet they should be applauded.

Think of the boost to the pharmaceutical industry as they reach for the Anadin Extra and Alca Selzters in the morning.

I knew there was a reason I got bladdered all those years ago pre - child. Wink

It's fine for the emergency services to help out people in distress, sometimes you can have too many 'accidently' Grin

But it's the violence against the people who're trying to help them that fucks me right off.

They might be pissed up, but there's no excuse for assaulting anyone.

MrsTwinks · 16/12/2011 17:47

Oh joy!! Works drinks tonight, better wear my highest platforms to keep my feet outta it Wink

sitandnatter · 16/12/2011 17:51

Watch out for skidding mrs twinks your bum could end up in the middle of it. Grin

We had the ambulance people around last week as Mum had a fall, they were lovely, we were nattering away to them about various bits of nonsense. We apologised for taking their time. Their reply was "we could stay here all day you're not vomiting on us and your not trying to beat us up". I think they meant it too.

Anyone who hurts an ambulance person should get the same severe sentence as the rioters got.

DH going on his works evening to a resturant in the middle of nowhere. (Not exactly but a good mile from the main road).
I'm driving him there are picking him up.

What's that worth? It's a 6 mile round trip, twice.

sitandnatter · 16/12/2011 17:59

Mrsflies one of the busiest nights has to be worth say £10 each trip, hell go for it charge £20 and let him beat you down each trip of course but then again I am cheap.

MrsChemist: Hope he does well from the tips!

(I had been wondering if he were a supplier of recreational pharmaceuticals and expecting Christmas tips like other regular suppliers [flush] sorry).

EdithWeston · 16/12/2011 18:30
