I think it should be allowed for special threads that involve the following exchange:

"pic on my profile"

"I can't see your profile"

"oh, can you see it now?"

"NO!"

"what about now?"

Oh actually can you IMAGINE how this would exploited by the pus porn brigade?

It would slow down the loading time of pages, and I can just see it being bloody annoying.

Ebay used to allow gifs and pics to be used on their chatboards, but you had to reduce the size of the photos as it got silly.

A little gif with our user names would be good though, if only to make it easier to scroll through to find peoples posts.

We should definitely have this. Especially in style and beauty.

I would definitely prefer to view photos within posts - those who don't want this should be able to opt out.
Would also prefer avatars (optional).
