Sleep dramas with DP

Hi all, just wanted an outsider opinion please! My DP hates it when we sleep facing eachother, so he asks me to roll over when I am facing him and he wants to lie that way. The thing is I never ask him to do this and I keep thinking its petty, but I am not getting a good nights sleep because of it. What can I say to make him understand that he needs to deal with it sometimes. I dont want to get into a fight, I just want to be able to sleep facing whichever way I want. Sorry its such a lame thing its just really getting at me. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am your DP - I ask my DH to roll over. Hate being breathed on and can't sleep with him breathing/snoring in my ear. Got into the habit of sleeping on my left hand side when preg, now can't get out of it.

Dirtydishesmakemesad · 12/12/2011 19:12

I dont like being breathed on so when dh and i face each ofher in bed i scoot down and so my face is under where is breath is - mstly snuggled into his chest most night we sleep like this for alot of the time with him hugging me to his chest!.

GracieW · 12/12/2011 19:48

I hate being breathed on too - therefore I face the wall.

Tell him to turn over, the lazy arse Grin.

Likeaheadlesschicken · 12/12/2011 19:53

In the later stages of pregnancy they advise you to sleep on your left, I don't know if this is your preferred side anyway but if it is it's good ammunition to hit him with, otherwise you need to get comfy where you are for the next few months!

warthog · 12/12/2011 19:54

i'm the one that doesn't like being breathed on but we both roll over ie. it's not always the same person having to compromise.

when you're pregnant though, sleep is elusive enough and he does need to be more considerate.

Alex

Try it tonight and let us know!! :o
(Sorry for typos in last post btw!)

FabbyChic · 12/12/2011 21:32

Change which side of the bed you sleep on. I cannot sleep facing someone either.

tethersjinglebellend · 12/12/2011 21:35

Have you thought about putting a carrier bag over his head?

Hey presto! Problem solved.

namechangerbat · 12/12/2011 21:37

I too sleep facing away from Dp. Being breathed on is horrid Sad

EverythingsNotRosie · 12/12/2011 21:43

Just sleep somewhere else. I swear, the thing that is going to prematurely end my marriage is this 'tradition' of sharing a bed to sleep in! Or top and tail... I'm not helping, am I? Grin I think he is BU, for what it's worth!

KittyFane · 12/12/2011 21:48

We have a 6ft bed (bliss) with extra pillows down the middle.

FabbyChic · 12/12/2011 21:51

Its about what SIDE you sleep on i.e left or right of your body, if you both changed sides of the bed you wouldn't sleep facing each other.

clam · 12/12/2011 21:56

She's already said that their default position is to each face the outside of the bed. So presumably they are already on the side that best suits them. So the facing each other is only a temporary position until one or other of them feels like turning over. Although he is hassling her to turn over before she is ready - and, oh my God, have just noticed she's PREGNANT!!!! WTF? Your needs trump his in everything comfort-related, therefore.
