To think this is a step too far in Christmas decorations

One of the neighbours has put up masses of outdoor Christmas decorations. You know the type - plastic snowmen, flashing neon lights and santa landing on the roof type affair. Whilst this is not my taste, its clearly up to them what they put on their house and fair enough. At least it means I can spot our road from miles away when turning off in the dark. Xmas Grin

However, yesterday evening DP and I thought we could hear music and tonight I realise the visual extravaganza now has sound effects. As I write I can hear Christmas carols wafting through the air. On repeat. They aren't even our immediate neighbours and its still clearly audible from inside our house.

I am not sure I can cope with it every evening until Christmas.

Sounds like my DBs place! Mind you his is a pub, 200 miles away from me!
I don't think YABU though! I'd hate it!

HYSTERICAL.

YANBU, and yet YABU, all at once Xmas Grin

YANBU. I relate to the urge to have giant Christmas things everywhere. I tend to go a little over the top at Christmas. DH is just now complaining that he can't put his cup down because I have decked every visible surface with holly. But decorations that play awful, tinny music send me into a blind rage. I also hate decorations that spin or blink. Or decorations with motion sensors that go off whenever you walk past. I am looking at you, neighbour with Santa outside her house that sinisterly HO HO HOs at me whenever I go out

Well TinyArmy I was tempted to put up even more lurid ones with motion sensors on so that next time said neighbour comes by to complain about the leaves from our tree blowing onto his lawn (?!) he'll be confronted with a giant HO HO HOing Santa army. Other options include sneaking over and stealing Santa.
