to book a holiday with Thomas Cook?

Or are they about to go bust? Looking at booking a holiday for next June, and Thomas Cook has the hotel we like at a good price, but I'm worried they are in trouble following recent news reports.

But then, I imagine any other company we book with could easily go bust as well.

WWYD?

Pay with a credit card and book it :-) That plus the ATOL protection should see your right. They needed cashflow help during their worst period of the year and they got it very easily suggesting that overall they are sound. I personally would not worry.

We have had one booked for May next year for months, you think you're going to be fairly safe booking with them don't you?!
It was the only company we could get Lykia World for a good price and I have wanted to go for years so will be gutted if they fold.

Not much chance of them going bust. Your money is fully protected in the very unlikely event that they do.

Yes, but I was working in travel when Intasun went down - it was a bloody nightmare and took about a year for some customers to get a refund...

Thanks all, as you say paying on credit card should mean we will be protected.
