to ask which option you'd chose?

Imagine you're in the following situation:

You are in a crowded shopping centre with your friend and you need to use the toilets. These are on the same level as the food court but you don't want anything to eat - you just want to use the toilets. You are both wheeling stupidly enormously huge pushchairs and just to make things a little bit more interesting, you are also carrying several bulky shopping bags on each handle.

You have two destination reaching options. Do you

a) carry on walking along the really wide (we're talking 10 metres wide) walkway
or
b) decide to take a diagonal "shortcut" (saving yourself all of about a 5cm walk if anything) through a seating area which is completely full and which involves moving several diners/chairs/tables out of the way to be able to fit through
or
c) option b) plus the added bonus of complaining that the people sitting down eating their lunch are getting in your way

I really need to be convinced that I haven't entered some kind of parallel universe before committing myself to revealing which option I'd choose, so please be honest with your answers.

waits nervously with a large Bacardi

Thank you! Xmas Smile

A

Kayano · 02/12/2011 19:53

Option 1

IneedAChristmasNickname · 02/12/2011 19:54

It's been a long time since I had a pushchair, but I think I would have chosen A. I would do if I had a buggy again, and am sure I would have in the past.

Thatawkwardmoment · 02/12/2011 19:54

Oh and the title should read "to ask which option you'd choose" obviously.. blames Bacardi for bad spelling

option A of course, but I often in a daze end up doing option B or C

Thatawkwardmoment · 02/12/2011 20:02

head the two sets of people today that chose either options b or c were far from dazed or apologetic so you're off the hook Wink

oh phew... I usually end up chasing one of my dcs through crowded shopping centre food court to a cacophany of tuts!

Thatawkwardmoment · 02/12/2011 20:51

Phew from here also - seems I'm quite safe in admitting I'd also choose option a) but I have had an extremely weird day in general so thought I'd better check Xmas Smile

A.

festi · 02/12/2011 20:58

neither I would leave friend with pushchair and leg it to loo alone causing the least amont of fuss, walking the route of option A).

I take it you are disgruntled diner rather than t'other Grin

Pishtushette · 02/12/2011 21:09

A.
I have a friend who would choose B and C.

Thatawkwardmoment · 02/12/2011 21:15

festi - far too sensible! Grin

You take it correctly - although I'd use the word bewildered rather than disgruntled. I stupidly confronted the first pair and before coming out with the option c) comment, it was aggressively kindly explained to me that they did not intend to have a meal and that's why they'd done it Confused.

So when it happened again, I kept my mouth shut for fear of losing what little I have left of my sanity.

Smile

Pish - out of interest, any idea why your friend would choose to do b and c?
