are committing fraud and getting away with it? (name changed because I am being a wimp)

I know someone who is also on benefits. This person and partner make no attempt to get a job, though on jobseekers. They now have set up a facebook page selling a service. I will not go into details so as not to out myself. At first I didn't really think anything of it, but now they are making good money from it (gone into thousands a year now). They would never declare it, it is just extra money for them. I do not break the rules and would not commit fraud on any level. I am annoyed, jealous of the extra money, and wanting a rant. Sorry :o

No I wont tell the jobcentre because if they were punished, their kids would be too, and I generally don't tell on people, but Angry

Rant over, as you were :o

Put up or shut up. Either grass them up or stop moaning about it. They are costing everyone who does work for a living, and pays their taxes honestly and their family bloody well suffers to do so - like my DCs who go without things that sponging bastard can no doubt afford for their DCs. So you just sit there and do nothing. Or send me a link and I'll bloody well report them. You are as bad as they are if you say nothing.

MabelLucyAttwell · 02/12/2011 17:55

You have a public duty to report the fraud. The rest of us are paying part of our salaries towards benefits for your 'connection'.

Would you report someone who was stealing something from you? Yes? Well, that's what your 'known person' is doing to us all - stealing. So report her/him.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow · 02/12/2011 18:00

report them. the kids won't suffer as even if the jobcentre take the JSA away from the parents they will still be eligible for child benefit and tax credits.

cwtch4967 · 02/12/2011 18:14

Report them, they have to live by the rules like everyone else. Why should you allow them to get away with it!

Esta3GG · 02/12/2011 18:16

How do you know they are still on benefits?
How do you know they aren't declaring their income?

2old2beamum · 02/12/2011 18:23

Like you Iamawuss I couldn't drop them in it. I could only report them if they were being cruel. However I have very high standards for myself. and I am the biggest pushover out.

your standards are so high you would condone this behaviour? Hmm I am mindful of the posting rules of the forum so will simply hold you and the OP in the mild contempt your attitudes deserve.

Mild contempt? fgs
