DP stayed at his parents house last night because he went to a footy match & we live 90 miles away.

It's my birthday today & he hasn't called or text to wish me happy birthday. Its not a significant one (36) but surely he could have text.

AIBU to be pissed off?

I would not be pissed off really. I'd be more pissed off if he missed one of the DC's birthdays.

WorraLiberty · 02/12/2011 12:38

YANBU at all

I'm not one for making a fuss over birthdays but I would expect a phone call

winnybella · 02/12/2011 12:39

I would expect a phone call as well.

SantasENormaSnob · 02/12/2011 12:41

Happy birthday!!

It's mine today too, I'm 30!

Yanbu, I would be very pissed off.

makinglemonade · 02/12/2011 12:41

YANBU I'd be a bit Pissed off too. It's your birthday a text is all that's needed.

Maybe he's still in bed? (I can't be the only person still in bed)

ISayHolmes · 02/12/2011 12:41

I'd be very sad and hoping there was something coming later. But...acknowledging the fact that it's your birthday isn't hard, is it?

makinglemonade · 02/12/2011 12:42

Forgot to say Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to you too Santas!

tigermoll · 02/12/2011 12:43

I'm be really hacked off, - I take it you guys are living together?

That is well out of order, - I hope for his sake he has something super special planned for later.....

Happy birthday!

YANBU, a phone call wouldn't hurt.

OldGreyWassailTest · 02/12/2011 12:46

Well, I presume he is coming home tonight? Maybe he is bringing you a nice present?

Abouttime · 02/12/2011 12:47

Thanks guys. It's actually the first birthday since moving in together & since DD was born 6 months ago (i do have DS 15 from previous relationship tho).

It was his birthday last month and i made an effort as it was his first as a daddy.

I'm feeling rather fed up tbh.

He's at work (we work for the same company) so i know he's not in bed.

Do i make an issue about it later or do i get over it? We are supposed to be going for a meal later but i haven't decided whether to go at 17.30 with the DC's or wait until DD is in bed at 7pm & go then.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

It's my 36th birthday today too! You are not being unreasonable I would be a bit annoyed, but could he have something special planned for later?

Abouttime · 02/12/2011 14:00

Happy birthday Hippomaniac :-)

He won't have anything planned for later, hes not the type!

AntiqueAnteater · 02/12/2011 14:02

Do i make an issue about it later or do i get over it?

get over it. would you want something that was only bought because he felt guilty/wanted to stop the nagging

I wouldnt

Abouttime · 02/12/2011 14:27

Where in this post did I say i wanted him to buy me something?!

I asked if i should be bothered that he hasnt text or called me to wish me happy birthday!

OP posts:
FredFredGeorge · 02/12/2011 14:35

YANBU that he forgot to send you birthday wishes this morning. It's not a heinous crime though, make him feel guilty and dinner tonight, but it's not a disaster surely?

sillymillyb · 02/12/2011 14:50

Yanbu - I'd be really hurt, its just basic manners to wish someone you are close to happy birthday.... and Boy would he know about it by now. I think your showing remarkable self restraint in not having contacted him by now to, er, share your feelings!

Happy birthday by the way, I hope your day gets better :)
