So dd1 (13 yesterday) went to laser quest with 6 friends including dd2 (8) and one of her friends for company as part of her birthday party.

They played two games and after the second one was finished one of her friends came to tell me that an man had called my dd names and she was upset.

I went over to find her in floods of tears because he had called her a fucking stupid cunt! This was because she shot him, it was laser quest after all.

Now, I know I am slightly pfb even though she is 13, but he was a twat wasn't he? Isnt the fecking point of laser quest to shoot people??

AIBU to think that if you want to take part in this type of thing, you should be a slightly more gracious loser when you get beaten by a girl and not resort to abusive comments?

I also know that because she is 13, people will think "so what?' at the swearing, but she is a quiet shy girl as are most of her friends and they were all upset at this. I feel sad that it took a bit of the shine off her party as well.

Shock I would have demanded he was removed

Sparklingbrook · 28/11/2011 14:40

YANBU what an arse. Sad

ChickensThinkYouCanGetStuffed · 28/11/2011 14:41

YANBU. And would anyone really think calling a 13 year old a 'stupid fucking cunt' is ok? Surely not. The man is a total shit sponge.

blueballoon79 · 28/11/2011 14:43

YANBU, I agree with Kayano and would have demanded he were rmoved too.

SenoritaViva · 28/11/2011 14:46

I agree with Kayano as well and no, I don't think because she is 13 it is OK. In my book calling someone a 'stupid fucking cunt' is never appropriate but especially a teenager.

theworldaccordingtome · 28/11/2011 14:48

YADNBU!! There is no way I would put up with anyone abusing my child like that. I would definately have demanded to see the manager of the Laser Quest at the time to report this and find out what they intend to do about it. If you haven't done this I would make contact with the manager as soon as possible (the individual in question will probably be on CCTV footage). If you get no joy with him/her go above their heads. Laser Quest should be a child friendly activity furthermore you did not pay for your DD and her friends to go to this place by some gun obsessed arse hole. I would be livid.

  • to be abused and swore at by (sorry was so mad I couldn't type properly)
hairypotter · 28/11/2011 14:57

Thanks all. I did confront him after I had checked with all the kids that they were sure it was him. He looked really shifty and asked me 'why the fuck would I swear at your kid when I've got my own?' Confused

I asked for the manager who had heard me talk to this waste of space, he said he would have a word but as he way denying it there wasn't much he could do. His games were over as well.

My friend took some of the kids to the loo as he was hanging around the lobby area and heard him tell his group of friends/family that we were all a bunch of fucking wankers. He had 3 small children with him Sad

What a horrible man. Glad you confronted him. It saddens me that people are in this world like that. It makes me go all right wing and believe people should have to pass a basic exam to have the right to have kids (I'm not sure that is right wing but whatever...)

Sparklingbrook · 28/11/2011 15:06

Your poor DD. My DS is the same age and I know he would have been really upset, and it would have taken the shine off for me too.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 28/11/2011 15:07

He's a spunk trumpet, you come across a few occasionally. You were right to complain, there is nothing else you can do. Draw a line under it, and move on.

I had a guy undercut me on a road on his moped and start banging the window shouting at me that I was a stupid cunt, while my 5 year old cried in the back of the car with fear.

What he didn't see was my husband following in the car behind, who got out and chased him half a mile up the road. He sped off as soon as he saw DH in army uniform legging it towards him.

Cowardly twat!

picnicbasketcase · 28/11/2011 15:08

What a charming attitude - denying he swore at your child because he's got some of his own he can swear at. Total and utter arse. I feel sorry for his children.

theworldaccordingtome · 28/11/2011 15:14

I disagree Binfull. Go above the heads of the cowardly manager who did nothing. Write to the area manager. They know who he is. They have his details from his booking. He should be banned and your DD should be compensated.

hairypotter · 28/11/2011 15:17

This knuckle dragging arse was hanging around the door waiting for us to leave, looking for a fight no doubt, so the manager let us out the back door.

My dd seems fine now, she was just shocked to be yelled at like that. She tends to hang on to stuff so I have a feeling it will be brought back up at some point.

I did tell her he was not worth giving him another thought and to put it out of her mind not sure that she will though

Yes you could go over the managers head, but compensation for someone else's behaviour? Really? The manager had already said that his turn was over. It wasn't exactly his fault.

Get the name and address and call the police, yes? But complain about the manager? He could have been just as scared of the confrontation as the op! Why should he risk violent aggression just because he works in LaserQuest? It hardly comes with danger money does it?

Andrewofgg · 28/11/2011 17:17

An adult did that? Holy shit.

Too late to complain now, I fear, word against word.
