it took me long enough to get used to people saying DD1 and DD2 instead of eldest daughter and younger daughter but then i see things like DD9 which make me go Shock but it turns out they mean daughter who is nine (with no reference to birth order)

so which is it MN jury? is DD1 a daughter who is first born or a daughter who is one year old???

dd1 would be first born daughter and so on. You just specify how old they are after you've written dd1.

Moln · 27/11/2011 21:22

it shoulld be dd1 = first born daughter

recall seeing a post that contained reference to dd6 and ds8 and i was all confused and busily tying to figure out the total numbers (or if was michelle diggar posting) when i realised it was their ages

Alambil · 27/11/2011 21:22

usually age is in brackets but some forget which makes it a bit confusing

olibeansmummy · 27/11/2011 21:22

Dd1 means first daughter, dd(9) means dd aged 9.

RedBlanket · 27/11/2011 21:25

The DD8 thing confused me too.
I also get get confused with BF = boyfriend/best friend

ShellyBoobs · 27/11/2011 22:33

And DF = father or fiance?

Misinterpretation of that one can lead to some Shock situations.

As I don't spend even half my life on here I find all the acronyms pretty darn confusing. I also can't be bothered learning them. I tend to just type everything out to avoid confusion and prevent me looking like too much of a newbie.

MardyBra · 27/11/2011 23:38

I have one DD and one DS

lollilou · 28/11/2011 09:23

I think I've just about caught up with the acronyms on here but should DD/ds be written in capitals or lower case? Aren't capitals shouting?
