To get grumpy about my interrupted nap...

I have a cold and it seems to be triggering shoulder pain (probably related to gallbladder op 3 weeks ago) so I didn't sleep well last night and DS was up at 5.30am - although then cuddled into me on spare mattress and played "Poke mum in the eye" until 6.15 when he decided it was time to get up.

DH kindly offered to look after DS this morning so I could go nap. (As background, our room is downstairs, DS has his upstairs) I'm just drifting off to sleep when DH wanders in with a sleepy DS and plonks him in bed with me, and then gets in too for a family doze as "he didn't want to wake DS up by taking him upstairs" Hmm

So now I'm slightly roused and a bit grumpy about it. DH whispers that he'll hug DS so I can sleep properly (DS can be a bit wriggly), and he takes him so I turn over and start heading for the land of nod.

5 minutes later, I get a frantic poke in the back from DH asking if I'm alright! WTF?! Apparently I sound like I'm crying!

No, that would be me struggling to breathe with a blocked nose which is the reason I'm so tired in the first place!

So now I'm wide awake and up as I can't get back to sleep, and he and DS are having a nice nap in the bedroom. And I'm still tired.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!! Angry

I would be grumpy aswell!! I`d do something that I would normally struggle to do with every one awake like read uninterupted or watch tv uninterupted!!!
Hope you feel better soon!!

Sorry ..........i would go to your DS room and i would sleep there. You said his room is on the upper floor , even better....

Did think about that - but I'm now awake Sad

DS has now woken (only a 1/2 hr nap! Sad ) so he'll be a grumpy little sweetie this afternoon.

DH and I have had a discussion (not an argument as I get too uptight) and I've explained that I'm not happy about this. He gets the point and has grovelled apologised and we're taking DS out shopping this afternoon instead.

Not ideal, but better than me sulking and wasting a day - and at least he's listening!
