When she drives a huge car to and from school and takes two or sometimes three foreign holidays a year. Hence has the carbon footprint of a small methane spewing cowlette?

Hmm

She's obviously saving a fortune by not smoking then.

squeakytoy · 24/11/2011 01:22

So does she make her kids inhale the fumes from the exhaust pipe then?

Carbon footprints, and smoking related illnesses really are one extreme to another.

I smoke... and am fully aware that it probably will contribute to my demise.

I also go on holiday whenever I can afford it.. and to be quite honest, I do not worry about leaving a carbon footprint!

dancingmustard · 24/11/2011 01:36

That's debatable squeaky some research is already showing that fumes from traffic can cause the same types of health problems.

Obviously smoking is bad for all of us (I'm not a smoker never have been) but it's still hypocritical in my opinion that someone who drives a larger than needed vehicle more often than she really needs to is uber critical of smokers.

Even respectful smokers who avoid contact with all non smokers.

I do believe that traffic fumes are bad for health actually.. but I also believe that the sterile, air freshened environment that so many people try to live in is equally bad for our health too.

You sound as if you are jealous of your sister because she drives a big car and has a few holidays though.

LulaBear · 24/11/2011 01:46

Does she criticise smokers for the carbon footprint though? And i say this as I smoke a ciggie :)

dancingmustard · 24/11/2011 01:57

No Lula she doesn't recognise carbon emissions as being a problem.
I'm not jealous Squeaky and I have my fair share of overseas jaunts Blush
But i'm not an eco warrior on just the one front, namely smoking.

"I do not worry about leaving a carbon footprint"

SqueakyToy, are you not worried about the world your DC and potential GDC will grow up in?

squeakytoy · 24/11/2011 02:06

My grandaughter has already been halfway across the world a couple of times.

Travel is an education for everyone. So no, I dont regret leaving a carbon footprint, nor do I frown at anyone else for doing so.

Litter is causing a hell of a lot more damage to the environment, and that is something that I would rather be pro-active about. I would rather ban plastic bags than aeroplanes.

^ sorry that sounded a LOT more sarky than it was meant to Blush

'She's obviously saving a fortune by not smoking then.' that made me laugh Grin

However when I did smoke , the anti-smoke brigade would get a stern reminder than walking down the street everyday past thousands of cars is more dnagerous than someones cig smoke.
