23rd November and I have received January's Good Housekeeping. Wishes me a Happy New Year. I know it is all about print deadlines etc etc but it just seems crazy. Really am not bothered about New Year when there is so much to get through before then.

I know where you're at.
I like to get my Christmas mags early but to get the January one in November is mad.
You always get them early with a subscription anyway. I just don't open the January one til end Dec. It's all diets, horoscopes and holidays Hmm

I think we are living our lives three months in advance.Makes me want to stop the world and get off for a while.1

That's what I should do - open it end December. Bit late now for this year but will do that next. Just this issue that seems so out of sync as I can forgive sun tips in March.

It's not about deadlines, it's to give it a longer shelf-life

ie. they can still, in reality, sell that issue in January when probably the March one is out

And also to do with the size of the publishing house... GH comes out same stable as about 18 other glorious glossies and it's to do with time on print press. They use handful of printers so take it in turn to go on press.

Ohgoonthen - hadn't thought of that.
