Hi there

Sorry, not really on topic but more traffic on this topic, I'm guessing...

Just a quick one, I find myself in bloomsbury (and walking distance ) on my own with no colleagues and no chilldren tomorrow - yippee!

I'm in work at 3 but should have about 3 hours to myself...what should I do?

Not leonardo or conventional shopping, but give me some ideas please...

Good place for a quick early lunch?

Thabks in advance...am so looking forward to it!

Have a mooch around Goodge Street/charlotte street - lots of geat little cafes and some nice interior shops that end of Tottenham Court Road

I don't know if it's still there but there was a YMCA in a square near ther and they did lovely lunches at an extremely good price. Might have been Russell Square, can't remember.

The British Museum has a nice cafe.

When I had a similar gap in my diary I went to Bea's of Bloomsbury www.beasofbloomsbury.com- the cakes were amazing. Afterwards I went to the exhibition at the Coram Foundation www.foundlingmuseum.co.uk. There was also an indy cinema nearby if you fancy a movie? I think it was called the Renoir.
Enjoy your day.

If you like Thai try Thai Metro on Charlotte St, food is fab and not too expensive!

Vair vair Envy. I would love to go to the Leonardo exhibition.
I would go to Charlotte street and have a wander, there are loads of restaurants and cafes there.

Jump on the tube and have a hunt around Covent garden, you've plenty of time

Andrewofgg · 23/11/2011 09:54

Lots of good real places to eat curry houses round Goodge Street and Warren Street!

JandLandG · 24/11/2011 01:17

hey thanks so much for these ideas - all thoughts really were appreciated.

despite feeling a bit sniffly, i had a splendid time; so much so, am going to try rope friends into starting an occasional civilised luncheon club.

thanks again

Definately stroll through the British Museum while you're there. It's totally free so you can pop in for a few minutes if you like. I love the Enlightenment Gallery.
