Oh sorry about the tears. I have no idea who he is

SoupDragon · 21/11/2011 22:04

I have no idea who he is either.

mumblechum1 · 21/11/2011 22:05

Never heard of him either.

edam · 21/11/2011 22:05

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! Loved that last rehearsal when they were all wearing 'Gareth' glasses and teased him with Thank You For the Music.

Meglet · 21/11/2011 22:06

I cried too.

The little kids came out and I started snivelling.

edam · 21/11/2011 22:06

(The choir master who does programmes about getting unlikely groups of people singing. This time it was military wives - really moving.)

NearlyMrsCustardsHardHat · 21/11/2011 22:07

He goes round the UK forming choirs for the Beeb. This time round he got all the wives of serving marines together while their husbands were in Afghanistan, had a piece specially commissioned and the big performance was at the Royal Albert Hall's Service of Remembrance. I'm trying to find it on you tube but it's not up yet sadly.

Clearly IABU :o

Even I sobbed Blush

OldGreyWassailTest · 21/11/2011 23:18

Ooooooh, Gareth Malone - any day, anywhere, anytime......as long as he wears his glasses !

wicketkeeper · 21/11/2011 23:27

I knew that's what this thread would be about before I even opened it. Yes, had me snivelling too.

I think he could get even me to be able to sing...

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 21/11/2011 23:43

I howled too. I think I may be a little bit in love with Gareth Blush he is just so damn sweet!

TroublesomeEx · 22/11/2011 06:59

I don't watch it. I'm just too in love with him; it hurts.

DH has a bit of a boy crush on him too. He won't admit it, but we only watched The Choir because DH wanted too and is not in the slightest bit interested in singing, choirs or bringing communities together. So I can't think of any other explanation! Grin

StealthPenguin · 22/11/2011 07:50

Back off, FolkGirl. He's mine.

Seriously though, I love him with all my heart. He is the most genuine and the kindest person ever to appear on television.

TroublesomeEx · 22/11/2011 08:25

Envy @StealthPenguin

He is just yummily scrumptious and has a lovely way with everyone he works with. I completely agree that he comes across as genuine and kind. There just doesn't seem to be anything cynical about him and I don't say that about many people I see on the TV! He is clearly just incredibly passionate about what he does.

His wife is an incredibly lucky lady!

KeepInMindItsAlmostChristmas · 22/11/2011 08:35

I thought it was really good

StealthPenguin · 22/11/2011 09:18

He's MARRIED?!

StealthPenguin · 22/11/2011 09:19
StealthPenguin · 22/11/2011 09:20

And he has a daughter.

TroublesomeEx · 22/11/2011 09:23

Oh you have it bad!

I didn't know they have a daughter. That means they've had sex Sad

I bet she's just the cutest little thing too.

And his wife is a teacher. Such a wholesome bunch. So so Sad

TroublesomeEx · 22/11/2011 09:26

According to wikipedia he went to the university of east anglia.

I got offered a place to do music there and it would have been at the same time as him. I didn't accept it and went somewhere else instead.

Pursang · 22/11/2011 09:32

DH's words last night: 'if I were gay Gareth Malone would be my first choice. Everything he touches turns to gold'. We love him here too!
