My DH and I are sat watching Children in Need. He think Terry is rubbish (knob) and shouldn't still be on TV. I grew up watching him and still think he is fab.

Any thoughts?

He brings back fond memories of my Dad getting home from the occasional night shift and getting us up for school, to give my Mum a lie in.

He always had Wogan on the radio and his voice is very similar to my Dad's so I find it calming and soothing.

Then the bastard went and spoiled it by getting a semi erection during an interview and the picture image is burnt into my brain! [angry}

HoneyandHaycorns · 18/11/2011 23:53

Terry Wogan is a national institution. It doesn't matter if he's rubbish. That's part of his appeal.

Smokedsalmonbagel · 18/11/2011 23:54

OMG!

Who was doing the interview? Or what was he talking about?!!!

crazynanna · 18/11/2011 23:56

Everyone one of his co-hosts has to lead him around the stage..."we're going over here now,Terry"

He's knocking on a bit now, poor fella Sad

jasper · 19/11/2011 00:03

I love him too.
Can't stand Fearne since she introduced "LITTLE Leon Jackson"

SO patronising

PacificDogwood · 19/11/2011 00:05

You gotta love <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=Terry+wogan%27s+cock&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rls=p,com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7DKUK_en-GB&biw=1440&bih=675&tbm=isch&tbnid=6lcxd7gl6s6IyM:&imgrefurl=steveshark.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/wogan-the-end-of-an-era/&docid=NkQX3po1XATmqM&imgurl=steveshark.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/wogandm1510_468x352.jpg&w=468&h=352&ei=dfLGTpXwN4Wc8gOhhulu&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=156&sig=100266610397710775820&page=1&tbnh=153&tbnw=210&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=191&ty=37" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Terry Wogan s cock

jasper - not keen on Fearn either. Don't get how her and Holly can be such good friends when Holly seems so nice.

PacificDogwood - thanks for link. I think I vaguely remember that now! Grim!

I probably shouldn't admit but I use to love The Floral Dance. i was only little.

Sorry - I just could not resist Blush.

I've had Wine, if that counts for anything.

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 19/11/2011 00:15

I luff Terry. He's been a constant voice throughout my whole life.
The ONLY man who's ever been able to make me laugh in the morning.
I sobbed like a child on his last day on the breakfast show on BBC2.
Like a child I tell ya!

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 19/11/2011 00:17

In my kitchen.
On my own. Boo hoo.

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 19/11/2011 00:18

Grin at the link. Thats cheered me up again, thanks!

Yourefired · 19/11/2011 00:28

Ok i'm old but I adore Terry. I love his humour and gentle goodness. He is the BBC's biggest asset.

tonybennscat · 19/11/2011 00:30

I adored him on the radio when he was doing the Radio 2 Breakfast show. DH and I used to travel to work together and I have so many memories of us sitting in the carpark with tears of laughter streaming down our faces - especially at Janet and John. Happy times. We both cried on his last day.

That said, Chris Evans has grown on me and I like him a lot.

I love Terry
I love that Terry 'does' children in need
I love that it was his idea in the first place.

I do not love that he gets paid a ridiculously large sum of money.
I do not love that he gets paid to present children in need show. (well he did until he 'waived' his fee in 2007? - maybe he does it for free now, bearing in mind ALL the other personalities do it for nowt and always have done!)

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 19/11/2011 00:36

No, that's definately his cock.
In posh corduroys.
And a funny expression Confused

edam · 19/11/2011 00:42

Spot the odd man out:
Sir Terry Wogan,
Sir Fred Goodwin, former CEO, RBS Bank
Alistair Darling, former Chancellor of the Exchequer
Lord Stevenson, former chairman, HBOS Bank
Andy Hornby, former CEO, HBOS Bank
Sir Tom McKillup, former chairman, RBS Bank

Sir Terry is the only one with a qualification in banking...

heidipi · 19/11/2011 00:43

Is it not true that he's the only presenter/celeb to take a fee for CIN then? Less loveable for that, surely.

Sorry to detract from his cock. As you were.

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 19/11/2011 00:45

edam really?

edam · 19/11/2011 11:05

Yup, 'fraid so. Terry worked in a bank before he went into TV. Maybe if some of the incompetent, over-confident beggars full of hubris who ran our banks had thought 'ooh, perhaps I need to understand the basics of this industry' we wouldn't be in this mess...

bringmesunshine2009 · 19/11/2011 11:09

Agree with OP's DP, Tezza, you've lost it, pal. Doddery, need to leave before he gets so out of the loop that he makes a serious gaff that tarnishes his previously fabulous career.

Dawndonna · 19/11/2011 11:11

I adore him, but then, I have featured in a Janet and John story!
Grin

Dawndonna · 19/11/2011 11:13

Heidi, this story comes up every bloody year. He doesn't.

Eve · 19/11/2011 11:16

I don't believe he gets paid a fee for CIN he gets paid a fee from the BBC for his contract and that includes CIN.

From listening to his radio show he and his team do a lot all year long for CIN, not just the 1 night.
