Research. I have (to use a fantastic phrase from another MNer) recently been project-managing Christmas via Mumsnet for example.

The addition will soon turn sour when the pedants come on and read your posts Grin

CalmaLlamaDown · 18/11/2011 14:01

I agree OP, i have been using it to avoid some jobs that i should be sorting RIGHT NOW. I never knew that people had the potential to be upset and offended by pretty much anything until i discovered AIBU...its just fab

lollipoppet · 18/11/2011 14:11

Me too, especially since phones are so fancy and internetty! but I still don't get some "in" stuff (though I do try to fit in!)

What is a thread killer and a nobdie??

TheRhubarb · 18/11/2011 14:22

Thread Killer - the last person to post on a thread who effectively 'kills it'. A thread can be chundering along and then a poster will join in and everything goes silent Grin

Nobdie - I think that's a Mumsnetter who is a nobody as they aren't regular enough and spend all their posting on Nobdie threads. Don't get it? Me neither!

You have to get in the habit of having something houseworky halfway through when DP walks in the door so it looks like you've been slaving away. Then ask them to put the kettle on/feed the cat/change the baby cos you're busy but will be finished in a minute and thats the last housework you are doing for now.

hiddenhome · 18/11/2011 14:27

I am considering asking them to ban me because I can't get anything done around the house and even dh is noticing my laziness Grin

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 18/11/2011 14:43

My dp celebrates when mumsnet is down for --the doughnut run-- 'maintainance'

startail · 18/11/2011 14:45

iPods are deadly, you can MN all over the house and hide the evidence in your pocket.
Should be tidying for visitorsBlush

Same problem with my blackberry, hooked onto wifi, up until all hours and on it as soon as I wake up, while I cook/hoover/bath children yadayadayada... Tis dangerous addiction.

crazynanna · 18/11/2011 23:59

I am the queen of thread killers. Just watch and see

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 19/11/2011 00:09

So am I crazynanna, so ill give you a break Wink

MilyP · 19/11/2011 00:25

Its like crack. Mumscrack. I only came on the computer to look up somewhere on Googlemaps. But Mumsnet was still open so got distracted. That was over 3 hours ago!
