I placed an order from an educational supply company at the end of October.

They took the money and the order didnt arrive despite the hefty delivery charge for three small items.

I called them this morning to be told that thye are having a stock take and nothing will leave the warehouse until the end of this week.

It's shit. YANBU.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 16/11/2011 15:30

YANBU, personally I'd demand refunding for the postage.

Give them a deadline by which you want your goods. If the things don't arrive by then, cancel your order and ask for a refund. If you don't get one take the matter to the Small Claims Court.

I've a similar problem at the moment. Before 25 October, I ordered a pair of contact lenses from Post Optics. In the past, it's taken no longer than a week for them to arrive because mine have to be ordered. My bank statement told me that the money had been removed from my account on 25 October and here we are on 16 November and I am still waiting. I telephoned today and talked about having a refund and taking my business elsewhere; I was told that I should have them by the end of the week. I gave them until Monday. Let's see what happens.

And keep a diary of what you have done about it.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 16/11/2011 22:25

that's poor, however, on a similar note, I have two orders, one from a catalogue, and one from an american company that i am yet to in one case receive an invoice and in the second actually bill the money to my credit card... I live in hope that they don't Smile

I have another instance although it's not really poor customer relations. On Friday 4 November, I posted a big parcel to South Africa, paying rather a lot for Global Priority (tracking system included) because my DiL's birthday is towards the end of this month and her gift for that is in the parcel as well as Christmas things. I was told that it would take until the following Friday (11th) to get there. My son went to collect it on 12th after that and it was not there. If it is not there this Saturday (19th), I shall be cross.

Where the 'tracking' is concerned, for us in the UK, we can track only as far as our shores. After that, it is up to the addressee once it has arrived in that country to do the tracking. I have sent parcels by ordinary airmail before this and they have all arrived safely and quickly so I'm just hoping that this one does.

Oh, and my small grandson's birthday present is in it as well for early December.
