Would like to get one for DH (52 and three quarters) as a Christmas present Grin

But should I get the one which is really a torch or the one which makes all the noises

I cant look at them.

I had a rather dirty dream involving David Tennant, and the Sonic Screwdriver turned into..well...something else he could screw me with.

The torch one is the one I got ds about 2 years ago - it can't really be used as a torch as the beam is just bright not torch like if that makes sense!

TheVermiciousKnid · 13/11/2011 13:18

I would love a real sonic screwdriver.

Molepom, I'm sorry but I always read your name as Maleporn. Blush

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 13/11/2011 13:19

Thanks valium

Hmm, how big is it though? Could it go in an engineer's child's top pocket?

molepom · 13/11/2011 13:19

lol

Dont worry about misreading my name.

Someone shortened my old name to this so I've adopted it knowing that people will miss read it, like I do.

valiumredhead · 13/11/2011 13:22

Ds used to play with the torch one in bed in the dark Grin

It's not big - yes it could go in a pocket!

My daughter has one that is a projector you have teeny discs to slot in switch on the light and images are projected,it is kept under her pillow along with Sarah Janes sonic lipstick Grin

bintofbohemia · 13/11/2011 22:38

My ds absolutely loved his but is only 5 and has never seen dr who. Some of the pics on there are a bit scary if you really look at them but ds doesn't seem to have noticed...

MilkNoSugarPlease · 13/11/2011 22:47

The one with the noises is excellent!

ReindeerBollocks · 13/11/2011 22:47

DS has actually held the sonic screwdriver used by Matt Smith!!

Very exciting and we have picture proof (alas, the BBC have not allowed me to publish it).

The current toy one is good, has all the right noises and is no different to the real one currently used.

We have three, the torch one was a bit rubbish if I'm honest.

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 13/11/2011 23:32

Okay, that's a no to the torch one, and will make a massive assumption that DH would not really want the sonic lipstick Wink. Will also not tell him about Reindeer's DS getting to hold the actual Matt Smith sonic screwdriver. It's upsetting to see a grown man cry Grin
