Fussy Eating

AmyLouise222 · 07/11/2011 16:58

My lil brother is 10 and he is so fussy as he refuses to eat any fruit or vegetables. He eats mashed potato and roast potatoes. He occasionally eats beef casserole and beef, lamb and chicken. As for snacks, he eats crisps and chocolate brownie/chocolate related treats. He likes typical child food like fish fingers and chicken nuggets. He also eats 9 f.fingers and chips OR 10 chicken nuggets. He does PE at school and has break and lunch so he does run around but not much. In 4 years he has grown just under 12 inches. He is startting to look a bit rounded and my mum and her bf aren't active. When he sees my dad at the weekend he eats just as bad and sometimes goes to the park but doesn't run about much. When my husband and him ran around at our local park, my brother got tired long before my husband. Any thoughts??

its an unfortunate fact that some parents arent motivated towards encouraging a healthy lifestyle.you could try talking to uour mum that you are concerned for him.failing that id keep taking him to run around in the park.talk to him.some kids are comfort eaters if theyre stressed over something.its a very difficult situation to be in.be there for him and show him the way is all you can do.good luck

Get your DH to keep doing running with him, or see if there are any sports he would enjoy taht you can get involved in. And keep offering him food he doesn't like, even if you have to put it on his plate knowing he won't like it.
