to replace my old power shower with

... a new power shower? Old one was in en suite when we moved in. We are refitting bathroom because a) of the big chunk knocked out of sink Hmm, b) it is minging peach-coloured and orrible generally, c) there's no radiator in there and the plaster's rotten, so it all needs taking back anyway.

The power shower is all limescaled-up and needs replacing too. I got a bit of a Hmm look from the plumber when I said I wanted it replaced with the same sort of shower, rather than a pathetic electric one, like in the other bathroom. I like a decent, powerful shower. I hate the feeble, lukewarm dribble that the other one does. Looking online to find out why power showers are suddenly verboten, I find that they can use up to 14 litres of water per minute! Shock (though I'm sure ours doesn't use that much)

And yet I still want one. Blush I never have baths (last one was a year ago when I had to sit in some lavendery hot water for post-partum healing), I shower very quickly. In and out in under 5 mins. Normally more like 3. AIBU to post the most boring AIBU post ever to pretend I didn't know about the water wastage issue and get one anyway?

YANBU,
Just don't take ridiculously long showers or insist on showering yourself or your DCs every day unless it is needed.
Feeble showers should be banned, they are just miserable.

Har. See, I am vindicated. by one person Grin Thanks.

I think you can get some sort of eco shower head that makes the shower feel more powerful but uses less water. Here you go, Ecocamel!

Feeble showers are pointless and those electric ones are just mean

Knock yourself out with a fancy new one. YANBU

Zzzzzz.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 06/11/2011 12:08

I know, Tuna. Go and find something with MILs in, I would.

Mandy, thanks for link, it looks v clever, but I don't think it would deliver in terms of temperature. Sad

YANBU.

And you pay to use the water that you use, so you have noo need to feel guilty. The water companies could do far more to save water than you having a crap shower ever could, but they don't.

Just turn the tap off when you brush your teeth. Smile
